Service — Pet peeve of mine is when you aren’t finished ordering and already they’re cutting you off to end it. Despite repeating back my order still got it wrong. Atmosphere — little seating available. It’s more like a takeaway place which doesn’t really fit the theme. Quality of food — dry beef patties, bun is ok but too thick(not soft thick). Chips are similar to schnitz which were good but strangely only part of them as if some were from a different batch. Large portions but doesn’t matter if not very good. Chocolate shake was ok — more like an iced chocolate than shake though. Value — burgers were between $ 10 — $ 15 so pretty standard. Shake was $ 6. Coke can was $ 3. No free water which I thought was strange. Normally cans of soft drink don’t hit $ 3 unless they’re the imported ones and surprisingly an American joint didn’t have cherry Coke, Dr Pepper, etc. Overall it just wasn’t good. Not terrible but there are so many American style places that are good in Melbourne and this is just not one if them.

Alright burgers. I had the New York burger which is a blatant rip off of a Big Mac. The 2 meat patties were thin like the McDonalds original, but the bread was thick. So that made for a dry-ish burger. The special sauce was tasty though. In saying that, I’d rather each this burger than the nasty McDonalds version. However, overall they’re not amazing burgers. Filled a hole, but would I go back? Probably not.

Good burgers– not amazing, but good. Not American style at all, so not sure why they say they are. However, the burgers are good value and satisfy hunger. Visit for lunch if in area!

Two stars for the Brisket Burger. Three stars for the chips. I would have previously given 4 stars for the Brisket Burger but unfortunately they have changed the flavour and meat and sauces. Why not just create a new burger? The old burger was fantastic! Pulled beef brisket with special sauce. Now the beef is way to spicy and and the sauce is just thousand island or something like that. Cannot rate this burger anymore. Kind of felt shanghaied into getting the brisket burger. The owner was so intense!

Attracted by the bold«rated top 10 burgers in Melbourne» statement, a group of us decided to give NewYork Min a go. We were greeted by dazed and confused employees who couldn’t seem to understand why we were asking them for burgers. Once the million dollar bill was paid for a burger/fries/drink, the wait commenced. Bereft of anything interesting or welcoming within the store, we chose to wait outside as to avoid the zombie like glares of the staff who appeared to go into status as they awaited their next confusing encounter. The burgers eventually arrived with the grace of a prison lunch lady slopping mashed potatoes on a tray of someone they dislike. We all ordered different burgers and I have to say they were ok. Just about ok. Metaphors stop here as the burgers don’t deserved the graceful prose of a bored office worker. There are 4 other burger joints in the area and with that much competition and the claim of one of the best in Melb you’d have expected better. They are about on par with a fish/chip shop burger except they don’t cost $ 4 and your expectations are not met. Furthermore $ 17 for burger/chips/drink is a bit steep. Patties tasted frozen but the brisket burger was much better. BBQ sauce was Masterfoods and the special sauce is basically bigmac sauce. Harsh indeed but if you claim to have one of the best burgers in Melbourne you should come close to backing up the claim or burn in expectation hell. These aren’t even the best burgers within a 400 meter vicinity. Chips were tasty though.

We were having a take-away team lunch at work and after the usual«Where will we go?» conference, we thought that we would try New York Minute. So we checked out their online menu, placed an order, and sent someone to collect. Everyone had something different and we all thought the burgers were okay. I had the Beef Burger, which was pretty good — not the ‘best burger ever’, but not bad either. Even the vegetarian was pleased — which was good since there was only one vegetarian option anyway. The only bad point were the chips, which were quite disappointing as they were soggy. Maybe they had not travelled well, but the burgers made it okay. Overall we will probably go back, but the search for the perfect team lunch take-away place continues.

Apparently one of the top 10 burgers in Melbourne — I don’t see what the hype is unfortunately! Ate here with a bunch of colleagues on our lunch break and we all unanimously thought it underwhelming. Got a beef brisket burger and small chips for $ 12.50. Burgers were quite sloppy. We ate in so when the waitress slammed down our plates on the glass table it was quite startling! I was also a baffled as to why the extremely thin napkin was folded and placed under a super greasy sauce burger? It made the use of the napkin redundant — lucky I had hand sanitiser for me and the peeps! All in all, wasn’t really blown away. Not sure why it’s claimed to be one of the top ten? It was a confusing and underwhelming experience haha
