Had a doorstop with my daughter. Nothing wrong with it, but didn’t set the world on fire… And we had to wait 25 minutes for it…25 minutes for basically cheese on toast.

Billy Baxters — this one, in particular, is at TTP — Tea Tree Plaza @ Modbury, if you’re not a local. So where do I start with Billy Baxters? OK, let’s be fair here, for a café in a huge shopping mall, Billy Baxters is OK. The food is… well… plain, really — it’s cooked well, but it’s not going to leave you drooling to go back again. Simple food, done well — but I have to be honest and say I’ve experienced better, because I have — much, much better. Billy Baxters isn’t an especially cheap dining experience, and there are so many more refined offerings out there. I think back, and yes, when I was much younger, the food at Billy’s would have seemed like a treat — these days I know there are so many stronger choices. Prices, for what you’re getting, a little high… staff, hit and miss — you could get someone with personality and the attitude to make sure you enjoy your meal — you could get someone jaded and over the whole shift they’re on… food, dependable, but it won’t knock your socks off. That’s Billy Baxters. Let’s call it an ‘average’ experience?
