Last night(Valentines Day) my partner took me out for a lovely dinner at this rooftop venue. I know he chose this venue because of the gorgeous outlook and the new renovation — which I know he thought would help make for a fantastic night. Indeed the venue was very pretty to look at — and the view was fabulous — but I can’t say the same for the rest of our experience. We were seated at a bulky lounge with a small coffee table — which was strange as he had booked for the 2 of us to have dinner. Again — the décor is very nice, but seating us there was not very conducive to eating a meal. The venue was not packed out and we did ask the head waiter if we could move tables — to which he said yes — but it never eventuated. The waitstaff were generally quite friendly and the food was very nice — once it finally arrived at our table. Unfortunately even though the staff were mostly friendly, we had to remind them of our food order several times and even had to remind them that they had not served us the water that we had ordered. On the whole they all seemed to be quite stressed all the time too — even though there was a seemingly large number of waitstaff working, especially considering that there were not that many patrons. It just seemed that the communication between the team was seriously lacking and it was causing quite a stressed vibe which then became quite obvious to us throughout the night. I don’t like to pick holes in hospitality service staff as I have done this work in the past and I know that everyone is trying to do their best — but there was one female waiter in particular who I really was upset by. A young woman with very long plaited/dreadlocked hair, swished by us most of the night without paying us much attention(which is fine as we were served by some other lovely waiters) — until towards the end of the night when she quite rudely and coarsely informed us of ‘last drinks’ and also was quite abrupt in a few other pieces of information that she decided to deliver to us. She really was not pleasant and had quite a bad attitude that was also noted by my partner(who tries to see the best in everyone). I was quite upset by her attitude towards us and it really just made what had become a bit of an annoying experience even more unpleasant. The drinks were excellent and the bar staff are obviously very good at what they do and were also efficient with their service — no complaints there. I have to say that the food and drinks were good — but due to the lack of service and the horrible attitude of that waitress I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone and this experience has also killed any desire i would have of returning.

Place rating: 3 Sydney, Australia
This place doesn’t seem to have its mojo together yet. From what I could tell the bar is based on two floors with views from both areas. The top level has lots of bulky furniture around and not a lot of standing room… every where you stand seems to be in the way of the bar/staff/doorways. We were able to get a table one level down from the rooftop bar and there is a nice small menu of share food available. A few things to note; 1. The same bottle of prosecco purchased in the ground level bar is more expensive when purchased upstairs 2. We weren’t able to book a table for more than three people upstairs in advance but when we arrived there were plenty of tables. 3. The outside of the hotel looks very run down but they have done a nice job on the ground floor bar aswell as upstairs. 4. The staff all seem confused able what is protocol and give mixed or vague messages. Might give this place a try in a few months once they have gotten over their opening jitters.
