Ordered my meal online for home delivery with absolutely no problems at all. And was delivered within the time frame they gave. Food was delicious and fresh and had that wonderful homemade taste. One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten from in Perth. Delivery guy was friendly and polite. Highly recommended.

This is a long term favourite of my long suffering partner, it is a family run eatery. As it was too damn hot to cook this sultry, heatwave Tuesday we decided a nice spicy curry would be just the thing to make us feel cool. There is a chain bottle-shop just metres away from the parking spots conveniently in front of the set back restaurant and a Pub bottle-shop the same distance in the opposite direction. This is a real family restaurant with Dad in the kitchen and the teenage children running front of house. That set up can be a recipe for poor service and a lot of shouting. Not here. The service is smooth and efficient, I have watched the ‘kids’ grow from awkward teens to intelligent and well groomed young adults. It is a large family and as the older ones go off to college there is a bevy of younger ones coming of age to carry the mantle of excellence, which they do very well This is not a scruffy down at heel family place. The restaurant, a long narrow room with well set tables in parallel leading to the bain-maries(for the buffet nights Friday and Saturday– well recommended). It all looks very clean and welcoming, glasses and cutlery are sparkling, polished, high quality chairs and a well set table. The walls have an eclectic mix of classical Indian, two dollar shop kitsch and Van Gogh print. Strangely, it isn’t displeasing. We entered to a restaurant about a third full, with families and older citizens equally represented. Menus, cold water and complimentary poppadums arrived with alacrity along with a cheery greeting from our young waiter. The menu here is a basic Anglo Indian menu, common from Barnsley U. K via Perth WA to Vancouver Can. My partner ordered her favourite dish, Goan Fish curry. One can vary the spice here and a medium was requested. A small saffron rice and raitha completed her order. I went for the Chilli King prawns, fresh chilli slices, king prawns and all simmered in a spicy tomato based sauce. To accompany the meal I ordered a roti bread having already had my salads at lunch. I had also obtained a very nice Hunter Valley shiraz from the bottle-o and was savouring its own spice when our meals arrived. The Goan fish curry is redolent of coconut with a good handful or red chillis floating around in the temptingly thick sauce. Lots of succulent white fish(the ubiquitous Basra, but you can’t win everything) and the thick yellowy sauce is so good it raises the humble fish to new heights of toothfullness. The rice was fluffy, soft and tasty while the raitha was full of fresh spice and grated cucumber. Very cooling and necessarily so as the Goan fish was on the verge of overpowering my companion. My prawns made their scarlet clothed appearance within seconds of my partner’s dish. Lovely freshly made roti complimented the cornucopia of scents at our table. My prawns, a round dozen, were of frozen origin but not to be sniffed at, only one was a little watery. They were all of a good size, not overdone and served in a deliciously thick tomato paste with spices that clog danced on my palate. The chillis made their very feisty presence felt, encouraging liberal sampling of the wine that sang through the heat, and fought back with a smooth strength. My roti was crisp on the edges and seductively soft in the middle, very nice, and enabled me to grab my prawns in true subcontinental style and eschew the use of knife and fork. A nice conversation with our intellectually minded young waiter rounded of the evening with change from $ 50.00 for two(not counting the wine). Although this is a budget priced restaurant the food is excellent, the spices delicious, everything tastes freshly made and there is an excellent selection of breads and vegetarian dishes. Mains are all under the $ 20 mark and the portions are generous without being over facing.

Great food, at a great price. Family owned, dad does the cooking while the kids serve the tables, the kids are adults, lol. Davide and his sister are very friendly they give good service. Their friendly personalitys makes you feel very welcome. They cant do enough for you. At weekends you can delight with the buffet at only $ 25 per head. The currys are so authentic and very delicious. Fresh cooked on the day. I walked past yesterday and the delicious aroma was wafting in the air. The owner must have been preparing for the evening meal. Now the secret is out I would highly recommend this restaurant. You are not paying for plush surroundings, though the restaurant is always clean, and the bollywood pics on the wall are a fun topic of conversation. The restaurant is BYO. So even better. Now the secret is out, will i manage to secure a booking, lol. Well done Namaste, simply the best!
