Sushi Hub is a fun place to go if you either want some quick takeaway sushi or you want to peruse the long line of plates rotating around the shop. They have a wide selection of plates for those that want the raw stuff and those in need of something cooked. Having come here for a special opening event, I can say that the management and chefs are passionate about preparing each dish. They know all the sushi basics and like to have fun whilst working. Also, with plans to open several stores in Melbourne this year, you’re bound to find one near you. Things to note: 1) You can special order anything on the menu. In fact, I would also ask for a special made roll — as long as they have the ingredients — they will make it! 2) They don’t have their liquor license yet so BYO. Lastly, their prices are very reasonable for Swanston and for a decent sushi meal. Don’t expect fine dining, just come hungry and have fun searching for your next yummy plate. :)

I don’t usually get a lot of sushi in Melbourne as there are so many amazing options for other types of Asian cuisine(read– dumplings) but I was in a major hurry and Sushi Hub just happened to pop into my peripherals at the right moment. Whether you want a sit down meal or a takeaway this little place gives you both options, with a takeaway cabinet out the front and a sit down sushi train in the back. The food was fresh and relatively tasty but unless you’re in a rush I don’t really know why you’d stop in here– its not very out of the box and it doesn’t hold a candle to some of the more amazing places buried down Chinatown Alleys.
