Sakura Lounge

My children indulged me with a gift voucher some years back and thought, wow how good and it was. It is the best place I’ve been to in Melbourne and 3 more visits since they’re still providing a very friendly, relaxed, customer focussed service. Highly recommend Sakura lounge. I’ll be back!

What a fabulous place this is. We booked in for a Package– over 2.5 hours of pampering. I had a foot treatment, stone rock massage and a one hour facial. Great staff, friendly, accommodating and skilled. Very relaxing atmosphere and a great thing to do at the end of a busy day. We booked in for 3pm and when you finish there are some fabulous restaurants in the area– as long as u don’t mind going out looking just like you just woke up, which is exactly what happened. It was fun and fabulous, highly recommended.

A gift voucher saw me attending Sakura Lounge & indulging in a treatment that I would never normally have.
I chose to have the Coffee & Chocolate Detox Body Treatment, which was interesting to say the least. A top to toe exfoliation followed by being smothered in the coffee & chocolate mix before being left to relax for 10 minutes. Sadly it was not a particularly relaxing time due to the noise coming from outside the room. After this a quick rinse in the «rainforest shower» (essentially just a large shower head in a regular sized shower in what may have been the staff toilet & changing area for all I know). It did not feel anywhere as near luxurious as what I had imagined from the online description. Once showered a layer of mosituriser was applied before I was commanded & positively pushed to sit up which symbolised a rather abrupt end to the treatment.
On leaving the treatment room I was told that the glass of water & mint on the seating area was for myself. I thanked them for the treatment but this was barely acknowledged as I left the building.
Overall it was pleasant enough but I wouldn’t go back as there customer service was certainly lacking on this day.

Lovely little gem of a massage place hidden away in a laneway, near Melbourne Central.
I had shiatsu and my partner had the deep tissue. Lovely Japanese style massages on the floor. I look forward to going back again.

Hidden down a laneway in the city is this lovely japanese-​style relaxing spa. I had the 2.5 hour foot massage, facial and shiatsu massage package.
First you change into one of their outfits (it didn’t fit me, which was a bit awkward), then we had the foot massage which was great. They were quite busy that day so we had a long wait until the next session but a good opportunity to just relax.
Gorgeous facial and great shiatsu massage. My favourite part is that they didn’t try to sell you anything or force any products on you, it was all done in near silence which added to the atmosphere.
Definitely would go again.

In a laneway right across from +39, you wouldn’t know that there was a classy and well-​run Japanese day spa — Sakura Lounge. Before I begin, I have to add a caveat: I did not pay for my experience here — it was a gift for my birthday from my lovely friends.
I experienced the Japanese Geisha Package, which is 3.5 hours of indulgence. Included in the package were a 30-​minute food scrub, 60-​minute shiatsu massage, 60-​minute facial, and 60-​minute body treatment. For those who have less time, they have shorter packages including the Head to Toe Package ($ 145) and Princess Pamper ($ 155).
From the beginning of my experience to the end, I felt relaxed and comfortable, which is what you want when going to a day spa. They were also quite attentive ensuring that I got the correct treatment for my face and body. I know that tailoring treatments to individuals is what they should do at day spas, but it’s good to know that it is actually practiced. By the end of my experience, I was the most relaxed person in the CBD.
Would I go back? Definitely. Their hour-​long massages from shiatsu to aromatherapy are affordable at $ 79.
