QV

Different than the Melbourne Central mall, QV is more interesting for his architecture.
The food court isn’t really great (no choice, expensive) and the shops are basics.
We will find the usual supermarkets, liquor shops, officework and others expensive clothes and decoration shops.
The open air area is nice and brings a little bit of green into the city.

QV. This is an interesting mall. There’s a parking structure with like 50 spots only. Yeah, I know. It’s not much of a structure but I think it’s free from what I remember if you get your ticket validated. It seems to be filled with college students using the free wifi.
There isn’t many shops and the food court doesn’t have many options. The shops are mainly boutiques. However, it’s a modern shopping center and the design is very nice. In addition, there are good looking people walking around naked, streaking through the quad, yelling ‘Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!’ and free wifi.

Dont use the parking place in this mall, its says 19 bucks for all day bit it dosent says if you spend 8 bucks or more in this mall and show your recip in the in the information desk in the parking lot and get the ticket, we didnt know til we pur the ticket in the parking ticket machin and jad to pay 50 bucks and find the the ticket desk in the parking lot to complaine, for him to tell us about it, he wasnt much helpfull to corect or help us, je keept laughing and seem he didnt realy care, so we drove out feeling a bit chated and enoyed about it… tumbs down.

There is a nice food court and some lovely boutiques. The levels can get quite confusing though– they come out to places you don’t expect. I really think this place is underrated. It is actually a nice stylish, not too busy and clean place to spend a few hours shopping and looking around. They also have great events during fashion week– classes/​freebies, etc.

QV is the place Id want to be locked down in if there was a zombie apocalypse, as this place has everything you need. Grocery Shop, Big W, Gym, Doctors, Pharmacy, and even a Harvey Norman.
Your one stop shopping centre :) Good food choices and coffee places.

Nice place to chill and leech some free wifi. Faster than the library across the street at least and good people watching.

For a shopping centre under an office block this ticks all the functional requirements of city working and shopping.
a) a largish supermarket with almost reasonable city prices (tick)
b) a department store for those disorganised or forgetful souls (tick)
c) a reasonable food court for the hungry office worker (tick)
d) a large bottle shop for the 4.30 beer o’clock watchers (tick tick tick).
It’s not the largest of shopping experiences, but if you want that, just wander across the road.
QV does just fine.

The QV is your practical, functional mall. It’s hard not to travel by it and wonder if there is anything you need. With Big W, Dan Murphy’s and Woolworth’s inside its a one stop grocery shop. A few other of my favorite stores are Hairhouse Warehouse (I needs my Redken to keep my Greek afro tame) and the Pharmacist. The only food I would eat at the food court would be the salad place (if I’m feeling healthy) and Hanaichi (If I’m feeling like cheap Japanese fast food).

Food? Booze? Bowling? Aesop? Hot chocolate? Shoes? Clothes? Pharmacy?
You get the idea. QV has all these things and more. If you’re looking to kill many birds with one stone, this is the place to go. Conveniently located on Swanston Street, I come here to pick up random household goods at Big W, to buy Aesop products, to go bowling at Strike, to buy books at Embiggen, and much more.
You’ll save time and countless trips.

2 pretty big malls across each other with few things in common! I’m comparing Melbourne Central with QV. They are located within 5 minutes of the other but the experience of shopping is vastly different.
Head to QV, if you’re looking for a charming, well maintained mall with not too crowded shops. The toilets are definitely much nicer here. This mall seems to have just the perfect amount of shops and restaurants and department stores and service shops.
There is an Australia Post, Medical and Dental Centre, Pharmacy, Banks and newsagents. The fashion stores include MNG, Hugo Boss, Zimmerman and INCU. My favourite food stops are Grill’d, Bread top and Max Brenners.
It is also a good spot to meet friends as the centre of the mall is open and airy and used as an event space. Passing through QV is sometimes useful to get across to the other side, especially during the rain.

The QV shopping centre is a redevelopment of Melbourne’s historic Queen Victoria Women’s Hospital Site. It covers the block in between Lonsdale Street and Little Lonsdale; and Swanston and Russell Street. It differs in design from other shopping centres in that it many of its levels are open air and it tries to conform to Melbourne’s culture of lane ways.

A slightly quieter and more conservative shopping side than nearby busy Melbourne Central. The QV centre is a great locale to grab something to eat, and also a great spot where I am inclined to do my weekly grocery shopping.
You have a choice as to whether you wish to head upstairs and eat out at one of their restaurants; or grab a small bite of something in their food court: otherwise known as their Urban Market. If your hanging out at the Urban Market, if soup is what you are wanting for lunch: In A Rush Café will not disappoint. Great for sushi, and a great Japanese restaurant upstairs in the open terrace area. Also their Sumo Salad outlet provides great customer service, and if your someone who loves a lot of lettuce in your salad: go to Sumo Salad.
And on a more leisurely note, QV is also a great place to go ten pin bowling at Strike. Better than Rockstar Bowling at Melbourne Central with great customer service and quality lanes. I did come last out of a group of four of us; got thrashed almost; however, in saying this a great time was enjoyed by all.

As far as shopping centres in the CBD goes, Melbourne Central will forever have my heart. However, QV does have its own unique charm.
PROS:
~ It differs from Melbourne Central in that Melbourne Central is more commercial with large-​named chain stores whereas QV has a collection of smaller, independently-​owned fashion boutiques.
~ Has Woolworth’s and Big W — two really useful department stores.
~ Convenient location in the CBD!
CONS:
~ The food court isn’t very good. Yeah I know it’s a pretty silly way to grade a shopping centre but mama loves her food!
~ Very confusing and hard-​to-​navigate. There are so many twists, turns, and hidden laneways. I have actually gotten lost on multiple occasions.
Essentially, QV is a lot more hip whereas Melbourne Central is larger and more commercial. There is still room for expansion but it does have a unique charm!
