Very small portions with big prices. Food wasn’t that flash with undercooked chips. We spoke to two waiters about this — they brushed this off and at the end, one still asked for me to put money in his tip jar! Very disappointed.

Was starving one night in the city and just wandered down degraves and saw this joint. It’s okay. We had some salads and a pasta dish. Nothing particularly memorable. I wouldn’t necessarily intentionally return, if I was hungry in the area I might try another spot, but there was nothing bad about it either, just as the review stars say: A-OK.

** 800th Review ** Wahoooooooooo! Great interior and option to eat outside. Wandering down this street filled with hawkers trying to get us into their restaurant. Chose this one because it had a great open feel and didn’t appear to be too touristy(menu & clientele). We had a few beers, caprese salad, duck and mushroom risottto. We ate upstairs at the windows overlooking the alley. Super cool. Nice staff and would definitely return. Don’t half step. This is a great place to come with a colleague or friend.

Il Tiempo is a café/bar/restaurant in the degraves st, one of the awesome laneways that make Melbourne so great. Serving Italian fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, his is a great place to enjoy a meal or a coffee, or just to soak up the atmosphere of the area and its charms. They offer a great lunch deal here. It has a couple of variatiions and options, but my favourite is the $ 24 deal, which includes a pasta dish, a house beverage, and the choice of bruschetta, entrée or dessert. Such a hard decision … their bruschetta is awesome though, so I generally choose that! The staff are really friendly, and are always up for a chat when they’re not busy. It just adds to the relaxed vibe, and makes Il Tiempo the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon on one of their outdoor tables.
