There’s something overwhelmingly underwhelming about Forever New. It has all the hallmarks of a successful business like Sportsgirl, but, the clothes are way too overpriced. It’s offensive. The clothes aren’t even ‘on trend’ for one of these types of stores. They usually aren’t cutting edge but they at least stick to a watered down version of what Vogue magazine was going on about two years ago. However, Forever New are still sticking with pastels. Those nude, white, beige, doesn’t look good on the majority of skin tone colours. Come on guys; at least have some variety in store. Surely you can mix it up a bit at those cheap Chinese factories where everything is made? What is going on in their design department? I know these stores are aimed at younger high school girls but it’s time they diversify! It’s certainly not helped by the bland store staff that have also been shipped through the training process and are now sick of the fact that they have to work for a living. Forever New just kind of feels like it’s lacking in personality.

Forvever New sprung into existence a few years ago when its young creators decided Melbourne needed fashion-forward, high quality, reasonably priced clothing that was accessible for everyone. And my how they have succeeded. Forever New improves its range and quality each season, with a mix of casual and cocktail clothing for women in on-trend colours and fabrics at super afforbale prices being their hallmark. I can’t go past Forever New for accessories; they are cheap, cute and unique which is really all I ask in chain store accessories. Forever New is always packed so be prepared to elbow over-zealous shoppers out of the way and wait for a change room.
