Meet the Business Owner
Janet W.
Business Owner
After a brief stint as a chemical engineer, Janet decided enough was enough and it was time to chase those childhood fantasies. Hers being an ethereal Alice in Wonderland café, what of it? It wasn’t soon before long when she was at the helm of St Ali’s Il Fornaio perfecting the craft of specialty coffee whilst also learning tricks running cafes. Fast forward a few years and finally in a quarter-life crisis, Alice Nivens was born.
Nivens, named after the White Rabbit in Tim Burton’s version of the story pays homage to Janet’s Lunar calendar zodiac — the lucky rabbit. Alice Nivens is Janet’s creation to combine her love of baked sweets & artisan liquids — be it coffee or tea. Hopefully it’s the first of many establishments, as Janet endeavours to explore further into hospitality & other business ventures in the future.
