The Melbourne lounge is huge and the coffee is the best I have had at any of the lounges. The addition of the toasted sandwich presses gives you more options for breakfast, which is always a good thing.

OK, it’s not as swanky as the First Class lounges. But having a membership makes every early-morning business trip or delayed departure much easier to take. Free coffee, drinks, and food? Comfy chairs? I never mind getting to Melbourne ahead of time because I can relax and refuel before heading back to Sydney.

I like the domestic Qantas Club, Melbourne. Before a long or short flight it is nice to know you will be able to enjoy a snack or light meal and a beverage or two(alcohol is served after 12 pm, but they make a mean latte too). A light breakfast may consist of yogurt, porridge, toast or pikelets. For lunch, make yourself a ham and cheese sandwich(just like your Nanna might) and accompany it with some potato salad or the soup de jour. After lunch, its buffet central with cheeses, cold meats, salads, dips, and a selection of hot plates too. Imagine, Coles cafeteria but for the sky! Wash it all down with a couple of fine Australian wines and entertain yourself with wifi and who really cares if your flight is delayed. Best of all, its all included in the membership.
