It’s the crust that makes or breaks a pizza and Anema does this spectacularly. It’s thin, it’s fluffy and the toppings are very tasty. The fried seafood antipasti special(calamari, snapper, prawn) was also good. The place is very convenient — just on the door step of Meadowbank station. I will definitely come back but I’d probably takeaway — my personal preference is against their exclusively outdoor seating, too many flies and a few mozzies.

This place is worth a visit to taste a real italian pizza. Great service and price to match the taste. Pick any pizza on the menu, you can not go wrong.

Best pizza in Sydney. The crew are fun and the food is fantastic. It may not be too glamorous, but the vibe is so Italiano, you soon forget where you are. The music and staff make you feel like you are on holidays. The most authentic pizzas ever eaten and the best pizza on the menu is the Rocket and Prosciutto, don’t share it! I always make sure I eat here when in the area, there is nothing else nearby that is half as good.

Hands down best coffee in Sydney. Dinner is also delicious. Traditional style Italian pizzas, light on toppings, but super tasty! Friendly and happy staff

I’ve been here twice now, and I’ve had a super yummy experience both times. The star off is the service… while the waiters are friendly enough and the food comes out in a relatively reasonable amount of time, the waiters aren’t really on the ball. The first time I went here, we were seated in one of the tented areas. It was difficult to flag down the waiters — they would come into the tents and serve food and quickly duck out, so on several times someone from our group would go to the front of the shop to request for more water, menus(they forgot to give us menus when we first sat down!), chili oil & stuff. The second time, were seated in the middle area which is not covered by the tents, and we were able to grab them much easier. As for the food… yum! For appetizers, I’ve had the appetizer platter to share — I think it’s called«Anema E Core» too? — and it was really good, a mix of cured meats, cheese and breads. I’ve also had a special which was this fried seafood plate. The calamari was good, but there were other kinds of fried seafood — there was this one kind of fish which still had a lot of bones in it, so it was pretty annoying to eat and we gave up. I thought the pizza was pretty tasty! To be honest, I prefer this to Via Napoli… I thought the pizza there seemed«gloopy,» this one had a much better crust for me. I’ve tried the 4 formaggi and tre salumi. I also highly recommend the dessert platter if going with a large group, it comes with decent-sized servings so everyone can have a taste(we were a group of 6? 7? when we shared.) The desserts are all different, my favorites would be the nutella donut, and a semifreddo(at least, that’s what I think it was?) Be sure to make a booking since this place gets pretty busy. Also, have no expectations for ambience. :P

Ask yourself: can a man eat an authentic but bland pizza? Sure he can. He’ll wish he went somewhere else though. I went to this restaurant at 5:14pm. I was a hungry man. Apparently, it’s a big deal to give one man a table at 5:14pm(i.e. way before normal people eat food) when the place has under ten people in it-not even close to being full. To put this into perspective: 30 – 40 seats all up there probably. This involved a 5 minute discussion between 3 staff members, pointing at things on the books. They don’t communicate with me during the discussion. There’s just lots of pointing. After this discussion, I am told«you can be here until 7:30pm. Boy, I feel welcome and important already! «Eat, but then get the heck out pronto» is infinitely kinder than«enjoy your stay sir.» I was there for around 30 minutes all up so I don’t see the problem-also, 2 hours is a huge timeframe. Why bring it up? Sure, I got my pizza but I think I would have been happier ordering from big gourmet pizza franchise(you know the one) with home delivery. You’ll probably ask yourself the same thing I did: are there any ingredients on this pizza? I see 3 green things(those green things are expensive you see) but mostly cheese and sauce. The dough is pretty good-probably the best part. The little rain proof hut area was good, no wind. Also good. I think an alcohol menu would have made the experience better. $ 26 got me a pizza and a small coke. Lesson learned.

Wonderful food and an unusual open air restaurant. The location is excellent right at Meadowbank Station. There is a range of food and the one metre long pizzas are a family pleaser. The seafood platter is my favourite and everyone around me asked about the dish. There is a lovely family atmosphere about the staff. It is a place to visit with friends or even by yourself.

I absolutely love this place! It does pizza just like Italy. I had to look back at photos from when we were in Tuscany just to make sure I wasn’t just making that up! Hubby and I come here at lease once a week for lunch and tonight we tried them out for dinner. Firstly, lunch. Pizzas and Paninis are the focus. They have $ 5 pizza — lunch size specials which have such soft chewy dough that we just love with fresh ingredients and lots of cheesy goodness on top. We usually end up ordering margherita and hot salami plus a Nutella calzone. The Nutella calzone fresh out of the oven can burn as you just can’t wait to eat it but it is so good fresh! They do have some sitting there if you can’t wait but you can have them make the pizzas to order. It takes all but 5 minutes most of the time to make the lunchtime size pizzas. Haven’t had the chance to try their paninis but they are reasonably priced with it priced based on how many items you want on it. Dinner– this place is pumping at night! We didn’t book but came in early for dinner(6pm!). I’d suggest to book as it is so popular! They have those metre pizzas if you’re interested but as we have it all the time, we thought we’d try their specials. We weren’t disappointed! They don’t have a standard dinner menu, it seems it’s either pizzas or their specials which is how we like it. Christian seems to have his specials based on produce availability which works for us! We had full 3 course menu as we couldn’t help but want all the specials. Entrees– The prawns wrapped in speck just brought out the flavoursome freshness of the prawns. It also came with some bread. The calamari and zucchini fritters were well fried. Not too oily and light. We had Tuscan pasta(Fisarmoniche pasta — had to look it up as I’d never seen it before!) with speck, Gorgonzola cheese and walnut. Sounds odd but it worked. Well balanced flavours and tasty! We also had the spaghetti marinara which had some clams, mussels, prawn and scallops. Pasta was al dente and had the seafood saltiness to it. Delicious! We couldn’t resist having dessert even though we were so full! We chose the Tuscan dessert special as it was something a bit different plus the Tiramisnu. Our usual pizza chef from lunch time sold it to us when we spoke to him earlier in the evening that Christian’s wife had made the Tiramisu. The tiramisu was just awesome and I’d come back just for it. Looks like they had some you could take away! The Tuscan dessert had cantuccini(biscotti) and a fig/almond tart which was the tiniest slice I’d ever seen but it was very rich so tiny for a good reason! The biscotti wasn’t too hard and just right for after dinner and went well with hubby’s macchiato. Definately a great place and the staff are so friendly. Always feel welcomed to come here even when the place is pumping and busy!

When the weather is rainy and stormy and you feel like something warm, what works best always seems to be something carb loaded. Thus, pizza is always a good idea! Anema E Core is a little restaurant(there is only two tables inside opposite their massive coffee machine and their indoor wood fired pizza oven, the rest of the tables are outside and with the weather being rainy they were not set up yet. We ordered the 4 Formaggi(Gorgonzola, Smoked buffalo Mozzarella, fiordilatte, Shaved Parmesan, basil, olive oil) Crudo E Rucola(Rocket, prosciutto, shaved Parmesan, basil, olive oil) and for dessert the Nutella pizza all for takeaway. The base is ridiculously soft! I am in heaven. Nom nom nom I love this place! Staff are friendly and the chefs have a think Italian accent which adds to the authenticity of this tiny restaurant. We have booked to go again this Sunday, looking forward to trying their other pizzas and the coffee! Ciao :)
