A must if you head to Manly, and a great way to escape the hordes of beachgoers on the corso. This picturesque coastal stroll meanders around the headland to Cabbage tree reserve. Keep an eye out for local sculptures along the way, and jump into the ocean poo for a few laps if you’re feeling energetic. The Bowery Café will satisfy every craving, but you’ll have to fight for a table because this place is the bomb… popular with locals and ring ins alike. If you don’t have an appetite but could use a caffeine fix, grab a Toby’s Estate coffee from Sea Poppies and perch on a boulder next to the water where you can keep an eye on the diving/snorkelling action… this marine reserve is a mecca for underwater enthusiasts. Picnic tables a peppered around this stretch, so BYO buffet if you can be bothered. Just keep one eye gazing upward towards the overhead powerlines which are a magnet for bird life which have a habit of crapping on people’s heads. Oh, watch your step in this regard too…
