History

Established in 2012.

The shift into decorative flooring started in 2006 when clients wanted to take our existing range of eco-​certified industrial flooring products indoors. The decorative flooring market is very different, however, and the crossover was simply never going to work. Instead, we had to go right back to the beginning and start from a blank canvas, so to speak.

While this was a drastic step in some ways, it also created a wonderful opportunity to address a few things. What did a genuine decorative finish look like? What capability did the resins need? What did the market want? How could we improve the flooring experience for our customers? These were just a few of the key questions we could finally look to answer once and for all.

After two years of continuous epoxy formulation and development, we were able to offer genuine decorative resins and set up a truly international model capable of delivering on our all-​important «Keep Smiling» brand promise.

Business Owner

Managing Director Jack Josephsen has spent over 10 years formulating epoxies, manufacturing epoxies and educating people on epoxy flooring and coatings.

When he first entered the coating industry from an engineering background, there seemed to be a few traditional mindsets and limitations holding it back. To this day he identifies the biggest of these to be the knowledge gap between epoxy manufacturers, flooring contractors, specifiers and clients that causes preventable failures and stops the industry from ever reaching its full potential.

To address this concern and educate those at the coalface of the industry, Jack published his book «Finally, real answers for real contractors — Industrial Flooring» in 2014 for his Real World Epoxies group of companies (to visit website — click here) and plans to add more books in the near future. He feels passionate about the coating industry and openly sharing his knowledge to help drive improvement across all areas.
