Very solid Korean restaurant. Decent prices, good portions, great taste. Would have got 5 stars if the seafood pancake was crispier!

This restaurant doesn’t look like much from the front. It doesn’t even look like its open and when you enter it is very small and almost always will be empty. That’s because all the action takes place at the rear. They have turned the backyard into a covered outdoor setting which is perfect for Korean BBQ as all the smoke from cooking your own meats can escape into the atmosphere. Half this backyard is also the parking lot and this is the way most patrons enter the place. This is one of the earliest Korean restaurants to convert the backyard into the main sitting area. There are many Korean BBQ restaurants that do this nowadays. Hanabi is a local favorite so it’s usually quite busy during the week and chockers on the weekends. It’s one of the first Korean restaurants to open in lidcombe and had changed owners several times. Originally it was one of the best Korean BBQ in Sydney. They serve bbq meat that you can’t get elsewhere like tripe, ox stomach, pork stomach, ox tongue and so on. These cuts of meat though common now weren’t back then. It’s still a decent place even though it’s not what it used to be and well worth a visit.
