Despite its looks from the outside Cosmos is still one to visit on Oxford Street. However — might I just add kebab shops rarely try in terms of interiors and exteriors the beauty is in the food. Cosmos have great kebabs — cheap, full of flavour and big. We ordered a LOT kebab and a double meat kebab with hot chips on the side. The double meat is really filling if your a meat lover like myself and the hot chips are definitely one of my favourites amongst kebab shops in Perth — crispy, thick cut and theres salt/vinegar seasonings available at your pleasure! The service is fast, efficient and friendly.

Compared to a normal Sydney kebab place, Cosmos is really nasty

Great kebabs ! I get cravings for their kebabs, and they taste far better than the crappy ones in shopping centers !

Cosmos is the blue-collar establishment of Oxford Street. While its neighbours are fairly upscale, Cosmos seems almost like a throw-back to the days when Leederville wasn’t as trendy as its current-day incarnation. Entering Cosmos is like stepping back in time. There’s a board with poorly-photographed examples of food. There’s a few scattered tables with cheap plastic chairs. The toilets located at the rear are rudimentary. The food is typical kebab fare. It’s cheap and edible, but eating at Cosmos feels like being drunk and hungry at 2am. It leaves you with a dirty feeling. Also, from time to time, workers at Cosmos will decide it is a fantastic idea to play music at ear-splitting levels.

Can anyone ever really remember what their end-of-night kebab tasted like? I mean, more than just ‘mother flippin gooooood’. Does it even matter? As far as I’m concerned, so long as the store’s open, the sauce selections are substantial and the queue is not too long, it’s a decent kebab shop you’ve found yourself. Right? Okay, I’m talking to the night-time frequenters here, I know some of you like to slide a kebab down during the day and on this note I can’t talk about Cosmos with any authority. But for the reasons previously mentioned, this place hits all the right notes, mark my word.

If you are like me and enjoy a trashy night out in Leederville then also like me you will most likely love this place. During the day I will walk past and turn my nose up at the dingy looking interior. It is really nothing special inside. Of a night however this place looks like it has red carpet leading up to it. The kebabs are amazing although I think my mega cravings make it taste all the better.

Claim; second best kebabs I’ve ever eaten. Reason; every time I exit Niche I walk straight to ‘the Cosmos’ for a cheap, delicious feed. First thing I notice time and time again — the 3 Greek Guardians… I mean gentlemen, who appear to be a permanent item of décor. I give them a friendly, if slightly drunken«Yia sas!» which I think is «Hello!» in Greek. They have a laugh, allow me to continue on my adventure, and then I claim my prize for passing these Guardians, a Chicken Kebab with double meat, sour cream, egg and salad. Appearance wise; not that crash hot. The people there are friendly, the food is tasty and it never seems to close, what more could you want?

Like most kebab joints, Cosmos is quite dingy and plain in its interior. But boy, do they do a killer kebab. Frequented by the drunk and sober alike, Cosmos Kebabs is that token kebab pit-stop that will seemingly be open forever. Since I know about myself, I know about Cosmos(although I haven’t been eating there for quite that long). They have all the regular kebab foods, heaps of drink varieties, and even cigarettes. Coupled with numerous Greek men sitting outside and loudly discussing something in a foreign language, even the dingy-ness becomes quite charming. Best doner kebabs in town, period.
