Would just like to promote this place as a viable ulternative to the big Kingston Park down near the water. two great public BBQs, and found that the seating area is half in shade most of the day — allowing the sun seekers to hide next to the red heads. An especially useful spot when the beach is too crowded — much better than waiting for 1hr+ for a bbq or a turn on the swings. Plenty of lawn(though considerable bur-clover, so bring thongs) which is great for some family cricket. The Kingston House seem to advertise that parking is only for their café, but is really for all patrons of the area so don’t be put off. but saying this, there is easy access. Toilet block was clean, which is always a plus.

While this little playground is situated in a very pretty location, there really isn’t much of a playground to talk about. The photo can say it all for me. What I will say is that there’s a BBQ and table/chair area not too far from the playground which is always nice to have the two together. The toilet block is just behind the BBQ area. There are tennis courts here but they are not owned by the Holdfast Bay City Council. There are many beautiful, huge pine trees here which give nice shade but there’s no direct shade over the playground. *Dogs allowed* *No drinking fountain* *Table/chair area not always in shade* *BBQ*
