This was a pleasant surprise — a very large gardening centre selling everything you need for the garden. Waldeck’s main focus is plants, and there is a massive selection. There’s a good herb garden and vegetable garden selection, plus some deadly-looking chili plants that threaten to have you breathing fire for a week, and a wide variety of succulents. Some of the succulents are beautiful, while others are both awe-inspiring and terrifying in their size. When looking at their succulents, I feared it would leap out of its pot to eat my face at any moment. Waldecks is definitely worth a visit if you are looking to enhance your garden.

I remember going to Waldecks on the weekends as kids, whilst my parents picked out plants for our garden. It used to be the place to get anything garden related, especially plants. These days the giants like Bunnings and a lot of independent growers just down the road in Landsdale have taken over. They still have a great range of plants and accessories. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, especially good for people who like me who want my garden to look nice, but don’t really want to do a lot. The café here is quite tranquil overlooking the gardens, but the food and coffee is pretty average.
