The coffee is ok and there’s a wide variety of breakfast and café selections on offer, however the service is very much lacking. A recent experience where a diner was chased down the street because the café thought the table had not paid. After much discussion at the till, the café realised it had made a mistake and only offered a mumbled sorry.

Café’s are typically small, intimate affairs. You know your barista by name and you order the same thing every time you head in. Via Verona is a new breed of café — this place is HUGE. It also doubles as a restaurant, a hangout for a glass of wine, AND a catering service. The huge front windows are opened up on nice days, meaning you can sit inside out of the sun and still get a gorgeous summer breeze. The display cabinet lines the wall of the venue, showing off their fresh foccacias, baguettes, salads, and a whole assortment of sweets — all baked and made fresh. Yes, this place is impressive but it is also expensive. A plain ol’ chicken focaccia(an oldie but a goodie) will set you back $ 10.90. Ouch, that hurts. Because of this, I allow myself ONE Via Verona visit a week, usually on pay day…
