Pempek is an Indonesian-style deep-fried fishcake served in sweet vinegary sauce with cucumber & noodle(yellow egg noodle or white rice noodle) on the side. This place serves one of the best pempek in Sydney. I love their fishcake skin & fishcake sticks. My partner loves the fishcake with egg(pempek telor/kapal selam). The place is simple & not something fancy. Service was ok. They take your order & bring to the table. There are cups available for water & hot tea, all self service & free. Parking is on the street, but 3pm-7pm Mon-Fri Anzac Parade is a tow-away zone(no parking).

Pempek(fish cake) is one of Indonesia’s fish cake specialty similar to those of Thai’s fish cakes. It is, however, a more flamboyant version as it is decorated with heaps of condiments such as egg/rice noodles, chopped cucumber, shrimp flakes, and special sweet soy sauce. The key is to have the crispy outer sheel but tender on the inside. The sauce plays an incontrovertible role as well as the fish cake itself. This can be a meal on its own as supposed to an appetiser.
