Pretty alright joint! I think my favourite part is the soup/​sandwich combo deal. The soups are pretty good and it’s a unique offer. Also really good price, something like $ 10 for sandwich and drink or soup. Only downside is how hard the bread is! Danny Boys really seems to pride themselves on their bread but I don’t really get the fuss? It is still soft on the inside but the outside is rock hard! I get the appeal of crispy bread but I think it’s a bit much here. As someone with some jaw issues, I tend to avoid it as it feels like a full workout trying to chew through the sandwiches!

The sandwiches are American in style, but varied enough to be interesting. The bread (baked in-​house) is fresh and robust. It has a tendency to lacerate the roof of one’s mouth, but is nevertheless much to be preferred to the insubstantial hotdog buns used elsewhere.

I haven’t had the pleasure of ordering a sandwich at Dannyboys but oh the cupcakes! Perfect for a treat or a workplace celebration, they get my vote for the best cupcakes in Brisbane. The cake is moist and flavoursome (unlike most cupcakes which taste vaguely like cardboard), and every flavour has a surprise, like the Oreo flavour which has an entire Oreo in the base or the white chocolate cheesecake which has a gooey centre. Be sure to call early and get them to set some aside if you want a big batch, they don’t last long!

We ordered our office Friday lunch online on Thursday afternoon for delivery. The food arrived at 11:30am, and every sandwich (plus 2 lettuce wraps) was made perfectly, was super fresh and overflowing with fillings. The Office also agreed they’ll be a regular Friday lunch supplier.
I love the idea of lettuce wraps in place of bread for a healthier and less bulky option for lunch.

One of the best hoagies I have ever eaten. There is never a reason to visit Subways again!!! All thier bread is made fresh in store as are thier soups. Delicious ! The owner is super friendly and passionate about what he does. Great place to come with friends. They have seating upstairs and the walls are chalkboards that customers are allowed to draw on. Kid friendly place.

This is a solid campus lunch-​on-​the fly option. They have about 20 overwhelmingly delicious sandwich options, 4 soups, and all the bead is made fresh daily. My pick is to order a sandwich as a crispy lettuce wrap, which are equally delicious and without the carbs. It’s not a very atmospheric joint, but there’s seating upstairs and everyone who works there is SUPER friendly, which more than makes up for the slightly less-​than-​thrilling space. They make the sandwiches quickly too, and to go.

I always get excited when I see that a lunch spot makes everything they sell fresh and in-​store. And this is what they do at Dannyboys — they make their own subs, soups and wraps daily. They put a huge emphasis on the fact that there are no sugars or preservatives added — just five simple ingredients; flour, water, yeast, salt and extra virgin olive oil.
I think what probably stood out the most for me was not actually the food itself — but the staff who are selling it. They are outgoing and passionate about what they’re selling. I was advised to try one of the four soups they had made that day (pumpkin & garlic, minestrone, broccoli & cheddar and tomato) and in combination with a sub, it came to a grand total of $ 9.95. Fantastic price for such healthy, fresh food. The menu is quite huge, so take your time deciding. I settled on a Dannyboy Jnr which was a small (it’s huge) sub filled with avocado, tomato, lettuce, Swiss cheese and mayonnaise. The bread was delicious, but they were far too generous with the fillings, as they ended up spilling out of the roll after the first bite. The tomato soup on the other hand was perfect — complete with wonderful chunks of croutons.
You can opt for take-​away, take a seat at a stool opposite the kitchen or head upstairs to a larger dining space. While you’re up there, grab some chalk and draw on the floor to ceiling blackboard if you get a chance between mouthfuls of the tasty subs.
