Nice now it has been renovated, all modern and the business seems revitalised. Average waiting time and the food is moderately priced. Parking on the street and the old ticket and call your number system. All clean and tidy. A few interesting spelling mistakes on the board but pretty good.

Love a takeaway fish and chips meal so tried this place a couple of times. The first time it was quite busy so had to wait a while and the food was average. Tried again a couple of weeks later and the wait was shorter but ended up throwing the food away. The crumbed sausage was slimy inside the crumb and smelled off. The chips tasted of old oil and the fish was cold inside. Will not be going back.

Supposedly great cod father. Frozen fish, frozen scallops and chips cooked in dirty grimy oil on the plus side the service was fast and the meal was cheap but i guess you get what u pay for? Ill give then another shot.

Tried them for fish and chips on a busy night. The order was taken reasonably quickly and the wait began. On receiving the order the portions were fair compared some we have visited. However the meal itself was a let down. The batter was tasteless, the oil was old and cooked at insufficient temperature. Leading to an over absorption of oil which in turn created soggy chips and fish that dissolved in the hands. I hope they were having an off night, this reminded me of my parents administering cod liver oil as a child.

Excellent fish and chips, the burgers are really good to. Really quick service never had to wait too long, especially if you ring though your order.

Great fish & chips place — small inside if there’s a lineup but they slave away behind the counter. Looks like he’s been there awhile and will continue to be so. Good value on this place.

When I moved into Kedron, one of the first things I noticed was this little shop on Stafford Road. Just saying the name, The Codfather, sounded like a place worth testing out. So after a few weeks, on a night when my wife and I couldn’t be bothered cooking we made an order. For two pieces of fish, chips, calamari and some potato scallops we paid under $ 20. We went down to picked up our order and found that the street outside was stacked with illegally parked cars and that The Codfather was pumping with people. My wife and I agreed that this looked like a good indication about the food we were about to eat. When my name was called out, the woman at the counter was really friendly. I was surprised when she said, with no second though to it, that we were new in the area. Happy with the in store experience we went home. We unwrapped the paper and were pleased to see a plethora of golden fried seafood and potato goods. The food smelled and tasted as brilliantly as it looked. The highlight was the potato scallops in batter, delicious. Needless to say, we are considered locals now.
