Ok I’m really sorry but I either need to stop going out for meals in Joondalup or stop reviewing meals in Joondalup. So 4 of us decided to go to Jason’s food & wine located in central walk… we we’re intrigued by the lit-up Cherry Blossom tree on the inside… the décor is um. well I’ll let you make up your own mind on that. We we’re seated at an oddly placed round table– I think this is due to us booking on the evening so they must have fit us in which was no fault but our own. The wine list is ridiculously over-priced. A Trentham Estate Pinor Noir was $ 42(we bought a bottle of this at Soda Sunlounge for $ 26 two weeks before– ridiculous!) They also stuffed up our wine order… brought us a white, then when we told them we ordered a red they went back to check then came back to tell us it was sold out… A little annoying but these things happen. Then they stuffed up my boyfriends steak order… brought him the wrong cut but we didn’t say anything.(We’re nice people, maybe too nice) My chicken looked like a bit of a mess, it was just sort of plonked onto a bed of mash with some random salad on the side… I wasn’t very impressed. They were in the process of changing their menu so my sister had to choose a different side. She chose chips and they brought a whole bowl over to the table. I think this was to placate us. The saving grace was when our waitress asked if we had any Entertainment vouchers, luckily we did! So they took a main meal off. Fine dining prices for a restaurant i don’t consider to be up to fine dining standard– sorry!

Love this place, very stylish décor plus the owner really knows his wine. Not eaten here yet but the food looks good.

Jasons Food & Wine is a modern Australian restaurant tucked away in Central Walk in Joondalup. This place used to be just a restaurant. Then at the end of last year they installed a bar with a separate tapas menu. This restaurant is charming. This is a great place for a romantic date, with intimate tables, dark decors lit with candlelight and cherry blossom style lights overhead. Great music plays in the background unobtrusively. The food is good, the cocktails fabulous and the service exceptional. During the meal the owner Jason made sure we were happy. For such as small restaurant the wine list is extensive and well picked. I recommend the seafood crepes as an entrée.
