their slipping, probably new owners. prices are up, coffee changed to a sweet cherry blend, not the best as before. also the food comes out cold and too fast, typical signs of microwaved prepping food.

Nice, casual local café. I have been here 10+ times and always impressed with the service, food on offer and quality of the experience. Always busy and staff cope well with various requests. Situated at the end of the Ivanhoe strip, it can be missed but venture a little further — you won’t be disappointed.

Located on the quiet end of upper Heidelberg road, just a short walk from either the Darebin or Ivanhoe train stations. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual but not frumpy. Breakfast is available all day. There are a few vegetarian options available. Portions are large for breakfast and lunch fare.

This is the sort of establishment Ivanhoe has been looking for — a good, solid café. It does great food, great coffee in an reasonable atmosphere. It doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t, you know what you’re getting and the quality is consistently good. It’s brand new and they are off to a great start. The biggest issue is that it’s down the quiet end of the street, between the Safeway and the Quest Apartments, but that said, this end of the strip is starting to develop slowly. It’s not the greatest location and can be noisy with the traffic. I’d give it a go, the food(particularly breakfasts — lunch is somewhat typical) and coffee is good.
