JB Hi Fi

We got to JB a LOT (and I mean a LOT) and, though it is by no means the indie haven that it used to be, it still has a reasonable range and generally good prices. Of all the JBs, this is probably my favourite: they seem to get in more alternative (as in, genuinely alternative, not the whole section of vaguely indie artists that they label «alternative») than other stores, and will often surprise me with a CD I’ve been looking for for ages at a good price.
Of course, it’s still a chain, and there are times when you think «Seriously, Gotye has been out for like 2 years and it’s still $ 22, but Tori’s latest is already $ 15? What gives, JB?», but that’s just the name of the game when you’re one of the few CD/​DVD stores left.
There’s not much in the way of parking, but it’s reasonably close to the bus station at Indooroopilly shopping centre (and you can always do a shop at Indro and then quickly run over to JB for a look), though I wish it were just part of the Indro complex.

I like most JB HI FI’s, but I love this one more. For anyone who’s shopped here, would know, their customer service is outstanding. There are plenty of staff floating around the shop, all equipped to help and all seem very nice.
My recent trip here, I went to buy games for my Wii. Since I am quite new to playing, I asked someone to direct me to the ones I might enjoy. He picked out the Sims and it was such a great recommendation for me. I’ve become obsessed. They have a great understanding for their customers and also the patience to deal with the customers who don’t really know what they’re after. This is why I like them. There is always something so genuine in their attitude and service to people. Plus, they seem like pretty down to Earth type of staff.
You will find most cd’s, dvds here and they’ve got plenty of accessories for your computer, phone and car. This place doesn’t have the biggest range in external hard-​drives, which I’ve recently come to learn, so you’ll probably need to go somewhere like Officeworks for more choices. All and all, for the main products this place does stock such as CD’s, DVD’s and games, it does very good. The most stand out feature of this particular shop though, it their customer service.
