Fantastic new menu! The arancini are exceptional. Only sorry I missed out on the duck spring rolls! Good on you IBC for constantly coming up with awesome specials and ideas to keep your customers returning.

Lawn bowls has become an incredibly popular sport to play during celebrations. At first this puzzled me, but the more I experience I had with lawn bowls the more I understood the enjoyment derived from trying to roll a weighted ball sideways in order to hit the stationary ball directly in front of it(while all the while becoming more and more tipsy). Indooroopilly Bowls is a good place to enact this ritual. A little less busy than other, more central, bowls clubs, the Indooroopilly club has everything you need: a bowling green, bowling balls, and a bar. I visited with a group for a birthday party and a jolly good time was had by all. In the afternoon the green is shaded, and the clubhouse is a buffer against the traffic noise. Wear your whites for authenticity.

Having friends who live in the apartments opposite makes this place a pretty regular haunt for me. I’ve never actually played bowls here but there are plenty of other reasons to visit. They have a weekend buffet breakfast which is pretty good and some great lunch time specials. They also have trivia on a Thursday night which is loads of fun and gets plenty of regular attendees. The prizes aren’t great but it’s not about winning it’s about having a good time! Just be sure to book a table in advance. Friday nights they have a happy hour from 4−6pm and cheap bar food. I do like the pizzas and dim sum platter here but otherwise I wouldn’t really recommend anything from the dinner menu. The staff are always really friendly though.

Bowls clubs rock when it comes to cheap drinks, cheap food and good outdoor fun. Whilst most bowls clubs are pretty ancient(and we love them for it) the Indooroopilly Bowls Club has only been around a couple of years and is proving to be a popular spot for young and old. I’ve just been there for a Christmas party and its casual, fun atmosphere made it the perfect venue for our party of 12. We lingered in the bar for a while, having some drinks and sausage rolls before making our way to our table. Not knowing how huge the mains would be, we ordered some garlic bread(so good and buttery) and bruschetta. When my salt’n’pepper calamari($ 18.50) arrived, I was feeling pretty bad for eating all the nibblies, as it was a really nice meal. Chips were crunchy and the calamari was tender. My partner had the BBQ pork ribs($ 24.50) and the serving was absolutely huge. Not the best ribs I’ve ever tasted, but good value for money. Unfortunately, rain prevented us from playing lawn bowls, but it would have been a great end to our party. We were all feeling the need to get up and move around after all that food and drink! Highly recommend this as a place for a cheap but hearty eat or a group function.
