Okay, so I’m not entirely sure how these clubs work, but let me try and explain from what I observed and asked about.
It’s a club that is restricted to people who have served in the police or fire or military and/​or belong to a club that has a reciprocal relationship with this club.
It has liquor and slot machines (in Australia they call them «pokies») as well as food and TV. My buddy Steve (former cop) and I grabbed some food and watched the end of a one-​day cricket match (my first full match I watched!). The demographics trend very high (lots of old people) but still very friendly and decent food.
