As I tend to foreground in all my froyo reviews, I am a big fan of the weigh-and-pay system of froyo because I have Control Issues. Berry Me gets big points for being weigh-and-pay, but — ah, yes, there is always a but — I was rather underwhelmed by their topping selection. It really seemed quite dismal compared to the selection at other establishments. Particularly disappointing was the prevalence of fruit-flavoured jellies rather than fresh and plentiful actual fruit. As for the yoghurt itself, the weigh-and-pay system meant that I was able to try every flavour on offer(except mango, because mango tastes like rot). The baseline original was nice and tart — it would be an excellent base for lots of delicious fresh fruit toppings(am I making my point clear on that?). The strawberry was nice but had a very strawberry Yoplait flavour. I know that might seem like a weird criticism seeing that strawberry Yoplait is a yoghurt and this is a strawberry-flavoured froyo, but I have had other strawberry froyos before and I have found their flavours to be fresher. The chocolate was also nice, but reminded me of Yogo(what is it with my palate and Yoplait products today?) — higher quality choc froyos will have you wondering if you accidentally served yourself chocolate ice cream. The banana was my least favourite flavour — very much like banana lollies. Apart from the original, the New York cheesecake flavour was my winner — it would be great with some crumbled sweet biscuits(or the crumble topping at my beloved Yo-Chi in Melbourne). But let’s face it — for all my criticisms, I will be back to Berry Me because it is there(on my way back to Toowoomba, really) and I have a Froyo Addiction. I just hope to see a little improvement in the toppings bar.

Berry Me is the new addition to the Indooroopilly Shopping Mall and the first FroYo Shop in Indro itself! They do offer 5 – 6 different flavours with standards like chocolate, strawberry and peach and some more«exotic» ones like piña colada. Take your cup, fill it with any flavours you like, head to the toppings and then to the counter where they’ll weigh your cup. The flavours were quite good and I enjoyed that some of them were not overly sweet and did not taste too artificial. I have to say though that when I was heading to the toppings it didn’t impress me too much. I like fresh fruit with my froyo but the strawberries and mangoes and other fruits looked like they have been sitting there for quite a while with most of them being more mash than nice fresh fruit.
