The Schwartz Sandwiches

This place is great to eat in and take away. I had a lamb, onion, gravy, potato and cauliflower sandwich which was a bit soggy and there were massive delicious pieces of lamb but would’ve been better if they were a bit smaller! They make awesome home made drinks to! Was great to try this place but probably wouldn’t plan to come back unless I was close and starving!
Staff are lovely and the desert cabinet has lots of delicious goodies!

The Schwartz are an unusual shop — dedicated to reviving the lost art of a truly great sandwich they certainly make a strong argument that this food has been neglected for too long. I’ve only tried one of their creations so far — a bacon, lettuce and mustard affair that blew me away. The bacon was cut like a New York steak (this was seriously thick slabs of bacon) and was perfect. Everything else was very well balanced and before I knew it I had inhaled the lot. The Scwhartz only sell their home-​made drinks — a mixture of soft drinks and milkshakes. I’m not a huge fan of the drinks — the milkshakes are tasty but overwhelming and I couldn’t’ finish mine. The other important thing to note is that these are not cheap snacks. You’ll pay about $ 12 for the privilege of consuming these bread-​wrapped masterpieces, but you probably wont regret it :)

I normally save my local reviews until I’ve visited a place more than once, but I’ve just eaten the most divine sandwich and I need to tell the world about it.
I guess the Ethos guys got a bit tired of just running Ethos, and for the last couple of months I’ve been following their progress on creating The Schwartz Sandwiches with bated breath, because if you know me, you’ll know how I feel about Ethos. (Answer: quite good.) The Schwartz finally opened its doors to the world yesterday, and this morning I ducked in to say my hellos and scope out the joint. Then I left with two sandwiches and a bottle of liquid salted caramel, because oh my stars.
I had the warm bacon sandwich for breakfast and the bacon was thick, juicy, and basically fell apart. The sandwich bun was soft and sweet. The sauerkraut and sauce provided the perfect complementary finishing touches. Oh, my.
The salted caramel drink was overwhelming… my body probably could have done with just a shot, instead of a whole bottle. But my gosh, what an indulgence.
I can’t wait to eat sandwich #2 for lunch. And then more, for the rest of my life…
