Staying in Hobart for a couple of nights after not having been here for 18 years. We went looking for this place on strength of Unilocal review. Found it by accident as it looked inviting. Décor is your half renovated look with exposed beams and wiring etc looks good but a bit too dark to read my paper. Music was a little too 120 bpm for me for that hour of the morning I felt at times I was at my gym but it settled after about 20 minutes. Coffee was tasty but my first was lukewarm which to be fair happens in every second«real» coffee shop I go to. I know baristas are trained not to burn the milk but I think you can go too far. The second was perfect after I asked for it hot. Meals were great, my partner loved her house made fruit toast and my big breakfast with slow eggs bacon sausage green beans toast and a kind of onion relish was well cooked. Overall well done a little pricey but that’s eating out these days.

The«asparagus, parmesan custard, poached eggs and sunflower seeds + sourdough» was delicious, priced at $ 17. Love that you pay $ 6 for really good tea, and it’s strong enough to get 3 to 4 refills free of charge.

A very hip and tasty place for breakfast. The seats are cozy if you can grab the cinema style two sweaters. Pre-meal starters includes a free sampling of popcorn. A bit odd for breakfast, but tasty nonetheless. Add in some 90s hip hop, and you start to get an idea of the fun. Food was great, though a bit pricey for the serving size. But there are plenty of options for vegetarians, or just ask your waiter for tips.

Wow, this was a HUGELETDOWN. First off, these photos of the great looking French toast need to be removed. It’s no longer available on the menu. I got the Pilgrim breakfast. The kale was the best part, if that tells you anything! Stay away from the slow cooked eggs. From the older reviews, I was really looking forward to this place. It was a tremendous disappointment.

Buzzing. Very palatable coffee. Friendly service and a lovely vibe. Great location too. Would be right at home nestled amongst the cafes in Melbourne! As it is, my first stop in Hobart.

Property of Pilgrim is a funky café in central Hobart. The staff are very friendly and service is great. We visited 3 times in our week-long stay in Hobart, and we kept coming back for the coffee and the food! We first visited on a walking tour and tried the cauliflower and slow-eggs — a dish which was absolutely amazing! We then decided to visit a second day during the week and tried the fruit toast with poached pear, and The Pilgrim brekky — both were fantastic. We then finished the week off with another visit and tried the crumpets. All the meals we had were fantastic and if we were there longer we’d go back again to try more of their menu. The coffee at Pilgrim is also amazing! Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. And I loved the spiced popcorn they served with their coffee — a lovely side treat :-)

Has the French toast and it tasted like a Krispy Kreme donut. If you like it sweet then definitely get this!

Stopped here for breakfast on our last day in Hobart. The layout and ambiance is pretty cool. The staff were friendly and prompt. The menu was something a little bit different, not your usual bacon and eggs but not so bizarre that you didn’t feel like you were ordering breakfast or brunch. The food we ordered, waffles and slow cooked eggs was absolutely delicious and portion size was good. The coffee was also very good, strong but not overbearing and no bitter aftertaste. Overall this is a great little spot and well worth visit if you’re in Hobart CBD.

Nice they’re open on Sundays! Wanted to check out the new Bratwurst place but they was closed :( Anyway it wasn’t actually the type of food I was after but was very satisfying. Hade the Bolivian breakfast with beef, chorizo, eggs, guacamole and sourdough. It was all very tasty and was enough when shared with the kid. We thought the eggs could have been cooked a little more but we like them well done. Everything else was great with the guacamole being fantastic! Price is a little on the high side but is matched by the high quality. Inside is a little basic but not uncomfortable. We sat at a corner table with a bench seat so I’m sure other spots would suit a longer visit better.

Serious business. The Beef Cheeks with Slow Eggs is beautifully presented & intensely tasty.

Good coffee and breakfasts. It has a very nice modern décor, with lots of exposed architectural elements. I thought the menu was a bit pricey, which must have covered the cost of a creative writer for food descriptions.

Looks great from the outside, and good coffee too. Unfortunately that’s where the compliments end as the meals were extremely small for the cost of them, and it was some very strange combinations… A lot of promise, but not much substance.

Pilgrim is my go-to café in Hobart, so I was very excited to learn they were expanding with Property of Pilgrim and doing a proper menu. I’ve only been in once so far, but I was not disappointed. The décor matches Pilgrim(they actually join at the back so you can walk from one to the other) but manages to feel quite a bit more ‘up market’. I really like the look they’ve gone for with this space — it’s sleek, funky and warm all at the same time :) The menu is not very long, which is one reason they received 4 stars from me rather than 5. The second being I had waffle envy. My wife order the cocoa waffles with salted caramel and banana whilst I experimented with an egg dish I’d never tried before and think may have been polish. My breakfast was very well done, but probably not well suited to my mood, but the waffles! Let me tell you about the waffles. If all that was beautiful and wholesome(not healthy, but wholesome) from across the galaxy were gathered up and compressed into the likeness of a waffle, that would be what my wife had for breakfast. Metaphorically, of course. If you really did that it would likely taste terrible — unlike these waffles which were perfection. Damn, now I’m hungry for waffles and no-where is open…

Hiding just around the corner from the infamous Pilgrim Coffee and joined in the belly of both beasts is the shiny new Property of: Pilgrim, boasting a proper menu service to cater to both the breakfast and lunch crowds(though like Bryce I too long for this to become an evening attraction). The fit-out is fairly stunning, with a lot of wood and a lot of shine. The menu is short but full of interesting choices(exactly what I love in a menu), though touting prices at the higher end of the breakfast scale. The service is efficient and attractive, and of course the coffee is wonderful. Add this to your to-do list if breakfast is your favourite meal of the day.

A fantastic new eating outlet in the city. A product of the team behind the very successful Pilgrim Coffee outlet, Property of Pilgrim is an intresting and intriguing full-service eatery bolted on in what was formerly a pretty average gift shop. Property of Pilgrim reflects Hobartians’ new found appreciation for good quality, hearty food with a succinct but varied menu offerring, hopefully, something for everyone. Hopefully this venture goes well for the Pilgrim team and they are able to expand into dinner service.
