A nice place to stop in for brekky or a quick coffee. Located on Port Road it’s ideal for those running to the tram who know they can’t get through their day workout their first caffeine fix(and it’s good coffee at a fair price). With two entrances, the other one backing onto the EDC it’s also a great place to get a bit of cake or lunch in your break and there is always a range of scruptious options. The staff are lovely and always remember me even when it’s been months since I’ve dropped by. There’s a lovely little courtyard area backing onto the EDC and comfortable seating indoors with both couches and the more traditional table and chair set up. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the interior is a little run down but don’t let that discourage you. If you’re running by and need a quick fix — stop on by!

What can I say about Nice ‘N’ Tasty. It doesn’t really look like much from the outside, nor really much better from the inside. It is clean but really all it is, is a walk in sandwich shop. All that said, the lunchtime food is great. They have a great selection of Hot and Cold Food’s available which change daily, along with there Fresh Roll /Sandwich section.(My lunchtime favourite). I am a lunchtime regular here as I only work around the corner and I really haven’t had a bad experience. Their rolls and hot food selection are reasonably priced, there staff are usually quite friendly. The only real problem that I found is that there is no real menu, you don’t know what your going to pay until you actually pay. More often than not, I am usually pleasantly surprised. Look it isn’t 5 star dining, but for a quick lunchtime snack that won’t cost you an arm and a leg this place is perfect. One thing though it is always busy around lunchtime so expect a bit of a wait. :)

This place make you feel like to have stepped away from the hustle and bustle of Port Road and into a little country café. The lovely staff are all so friendly and polite that they surely can’t be city folk! I come here when I have been too lazy to prepare my own lunch yet still feel like something healthy and cheap — this place is perfect! I can get a double-cut roll absolutely stuffed full with my own choice of fillings for around $ 7 — bargain! There are also an array of yummy cakes, biscuits and slices available — just like your grandma would make! Basically if you want good quality, wholesome food, made with love this side of town, then this is where you need to be!

I went in here the other day for a coffee. It was okay. Nothing special, but not the worst I’ve had. The service was good, the staff are friendly and talkative. I had my coffee to go. The only downside was I couldn’t drink the thing for a good ten minutes as it was way too hot. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go back, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid either.

Nice ‘N’ Tasty Snack Bar is a super popular Port Rd lunch stop. It does a huge range of focaccias at very decent prices, as well as a great range of drinks and coffees. You can sit out the back in the courtyard, which is another entrance for all those working on the south side of Port Rd, or sit in the spacious coolness of the interior. All focaccias are $ 8.80 and come with a generous side of salad. I recommend the chicken, which comes with avocado, pesto and sundried tomato. A classically delicious mix. They have a separate menu for everything else, including standard and hearty lunch bar fare, such as quiches, fish and chips(for under $ 10!) and some delicious salads(all around the $ 10 mark). The popularity of this place attests to its value. The food is wholesome and yummy, and very well priced. They also do a great traditional iced coffee with plenty of ice-cream, and their standard coffee is fine — nothing special, but does the trick.
