I just came here for a coffee. Waited to be served then waited 10 minutes for my latte. Not sure why it took so long. The table next to us had the same issue and her drinks and food came out all at different times. A server came to my table after putting my coffee down a few minutes before and asked if I was waiting on food. I said no. This could have been a good opportunity to ask if I would like to see a menu as none was on my table. Quite a few other tables were in need of a clear. Never mind. For some reason they were busy even though all tables were not filled. I will have to go back just to see if they were just having a bad day.

After a morning trip to the mall we decided to stop in and try breakfast at this place. I am not usually one to frequent the cafes in malls especially for eating manly because I don’t like people walking past me watching me eat, however I am happy that we stopped in as the food was great and the service was even better! They have a half breakfast option on the menu which is perfect for me as I want a bit of everything but can’t fit a full breakfast in. Eggs benny with salmon was delish also — overall really happy with this café.

Caffissimo is smack-bang in the middle of a shopping centre, which is usually the sort of place you would get your coffee to go. If you don’t, people will pass by you on either side while you sit there and attempt to enjoy your drink in peace in quiet, which you will doubtless fail at doing for the reason that shopping centres are rarely peaceful and never quiet. But you should sit there and enjoy your coffee nevertheless. The pleasure of drinking it out of natty little glass-and-steel cups is the reward you will receive for your masochism. Coffee appreciation is about the details and these cups are a fine one. The food is surprisingly good, too, for this sort of place. I don’t often go in for the sort of pre-prepared sandwiches and pastries than coffee chains like this offer up, but when push came to shove on a recent shopping trip, and I was forced to down a chicken and avocado focaccia, I have to admit that it wasn’t bad. Indeed, both it and the coffee were good enough for me to take out a book and start reading as though I was actually in a coffee shop somewhere, which is another way of saying that they were good enough that I forgot I was in a shopping centre in the first place.
