I had dinner here on New Year’s Eve with my boyfriend. They had a 7 course set menu with matched wines on offer. Everything was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was excellent also. I highly recommend it and look forward to eating there again.

Ours was the only table without a lit candle. I took this as a personal insult and spent the rest of the meal stewing on it and comparing myself with other diners. We deserve a candle, right? Maybe we don’t, and they know it. Food was good. Especially the tuna. Tried a great red from Portugal. But Whatevs, dark, cold, impotent candle occupied my thoughts. I think Jacksons used to be here. They had candles at every table. Warm and bright.

What a superb little restaurant! Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with amazing food — what more could you possibly ask for :) I took the Mr here for his birthday, we both ordered the tasting menu at $ 89pp and neither of us regretted it when we waddled out a few hours later. For once i preferred the savory part of the menu but the Mr couldn’t get enough of the coffee pre desert and the parsnip, honey, cornflake crunch. Definitely somewhere we will be recommending over and over again :)

I’m hard to please but this little restaurant just ticks all the right boxes. We opted for the fixed price menu at $ 60 pp and gorged ourselves on the scallops, roast chicken and mushrooms followed by the Quail and a main of Roast lamb shoulder. Everything was exquisitely prepared — a delight to all the senses. The Entrée portions are ideally for a single person and should not be shared, but what they lack in size, they more than make up for in quality and flavour. We stopped our waiter many times to ask more questions about what we were tasting and how it was prepared… not that we’re likely to replicate this at home, but one can aspire to the greatness created in that kitchen! Dessert was a splurge of dark chocolate and mint sorbet, whilst hubby had the Rhubarb and Vanilla Panna Cotta. I could not fault anything at this restaurant Loved the décor, loved the staff, LOVED the food. Can’t wait to go back!

St. Michael offers what I refer to as a dining experience; it is best enjoyed when you go with an open mind and a good appetite; each dish is carefully thought out and overall well balanced; best yet they have introduced BYO nights if you want to make use of your cellar — else their menu offer some really great drops to try. I recommend steeling yourself for the three course menu; simply chose any entrée main and dessert — better yet ask if you can share at lest the mains if not everything to sample even more of the menu! Note a couple of dishes have a surcharge over the std. 3 course price but not unreasonably when you see the quality and size of the mains. The ambiance is quite and relaxed; it avoids any unnecessary airs and simply executed well ok delivering fine food and great service.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Perth. Taking over the beloved Jackson’s, this place had big shoes to fill and it’s safe to say it delivered! The seven course tasting menu is only $ 89pp and well worth it. It’s hard to pick my favourite dish, they were all so tasty — even the cauliflower cheese risotto! But the scallop, roast chicken & mushroom concoction was up there. I chose the ocean trout, salmorejo, octopus & chorizo main(flawless), and my dining parter had the roast lamb shoulder. I’m not much of a lamb fan(sacrilege as an Australian, I know) but it was apparently delicious. The wine list was very good. We enjoyed two Italian reds that I’d never heard of before and that I’m kicking myself for not taking down the names. The service was friendly and attentive. All in all a fantastic place, and I will definitely be back for round 2. Little tip: If you do partake in the 7 course menu, do not wear tight clothing(rookie error on my behalf), and definitely give yourself a good few hours to sit back and enjoy — and then roll your way home into a food coma. We were the last ones standing(or slouching) and could have happily stayed for a few more wines!

I really enjoyed this place, the staff we very warm and accommodating, and did what they could for me with regards to my food allergies. The restaurant itself is simple and elegant. it was a little quiet and lacked a little atmosphere, but it was early on a Wednesday eve, so I’m willing to overlook that. We had the taster menu, which was lovely… too many courses to put into words, but my favourites were the scallops with charred corn, the lamb belly and the marshmallow with lemon, beautiful flavour combinations!

Wow I’m already dreaming of going back and just salivating at the thought!!! The 3 of us opted for 3 plates each for $ 49 per person. We all started with the roast cauliflower and it was divine! I also tried the quail and lamb. Oh em gee… that lamb was sooooo good. I’d like to try some of the other dishes but will no doubt have the cauliflower and lamb again! We also had three serves of bread which included bread rolls, lavosh and a tasty butter with a hint of vegemite. I was definitely full by the end after having the 3 dishes and all that bread. I could’ve even gone for a dessert but stopped myself. I was really impressed by the high standards of service seeing they had only been open for about 5 weeks now. It’s also a bonus that they are only 15 minutes from home and on a great strip where there’s plenty to see and do. We popped into Enriques across the road for a drink before dinner.

Looks classy, but still comfortable with booths providing more privacy at the back. Presentation is beautiful, but portions are small and pricey. You know the deal: big plate, small meal. But hey, it sure looks pretty. Fortunately, the bread was free, delicious and plentiful. I really liked the cauliflower and scallop dishes I ordered, but everything tasted good. I heard the lamb was drool-worthy. The service was polite and informative. The wine list was excellent. We had a lovely time.

Definitely up there with the best food I’ve had in Perth. As mentioned in other reviews, the concept is a little different to the norm. A variety of small plates with the option of a la carte(minimum of 3 per person at $ 49/head) or the set seven courses on offer. Additional plates are $ 12 each. There are also some«snacks» available such as salt and vinegar pork crackers(uhhh… YUM!) as well as a cured meat and fermented vegetable plate. We decided to go a la carte(plus bread and pork crackers). It was just enough. We walked out satisfied without feeling stuffed. Dishes we sampled were roast cauliflower capers jalapeño and manchego, smoked bacon eggs and beans(the fanciest brinner* going around), ocean trout with broccoli and potato purée, lamb shoulder with black olive and mint, Yorkshire tonkin with cherry and chocolate and the fruit salad with yoghurt and herbs. All of the descriptions are very simple but the flavours are not. The serves appear small but are rich and beautiful. The wine list is good. A good variety from various regions by the glass. The Italian white was phenomenal. A good variety of beers and ciders as well. Service was great. Warm, friendly and relaxed which is exactly what they’re going for. The restaurant was near empty when we arrived but a few groups came throughout the night which added to the ambience. The fitout is sleek, tasteful and inviting. St Michael 6003 has been open for nearly a month. I recommend getting in now before the crowds build. * brinner = breakfast for dinner (I know one of the owners but attended as a regular paying customer)

Enjoyed it. Menu concept is a bit different. You select 3 or 7 plates each. We had 3 each, one of which is dessert. We both had, cauliflower-manchego, Libby roast lamb shoulder with mint purée, I had awesome scallops with shaved squid and corn. Dessert was spectacular with Yorkshire Parkin, cherry & chocolate ice-cream. I had walnut-celeriac-blue cheese-crème anglaise. Delicious. Small serves, about entrée size, but good atmosphere and flavours. 2 plates + 1 dessert @ $ 49 per person. French guys running it. Service friendly but not quite attentive, it felt slightly understaffed as out waitress doing cocktails and tables. Complimentary bread and lavosh. Oh yeah, their cocktail of the night was espresso martini #destiny We had pre drinks and roast chickpeas at El publico before and were full at end of St michaels.

St Michael rises on the site of the old«Jackson’s» Only having just opened a few days ago, this new New Small plates restaurant owned by Red Cabbage’s Scott & Hazel and Petite Mort’s Todd Stuart is yet another classy addition to the Beaufort Street at the site of the old Jackson’s. I decided to try the«tasting menu» which ended up being $ 89 per head. Susan opted to order a la carte and we shared between us so that we could sample a decent portion of what is on offer. The dishes we ended up trying were 1) house cured meats, corned beef and bresaola 2) Lamb belly, mandarin and pickled yabbies 3) Smoked pork hock, Piccalilli and Parmesan 4) Quail, carrots, ricotta, honey and buckwheat 5) Roast cauliflower, capers, jalepeno and manchego. 6) Marron, mushroom dashi and turnips 7) Scallops, corn, spinach and shaved squid 8) Blackened trout, red curry and pineapple. 9) Waygu rump cap, cherry, oats, seeds and nuts. 10) Pumpkin, white chocolate, cheddar crumb, pear sorbet abd blue cheese 11) Palate cleanser«sorbet style» vegetable salad 12) Parsnip, honey and cornflake crunch and of course the standard complimentary bread with butter. The palate cleanser was on the house, as was the complimentary bread. Also our last desert was given as 2 portions instead of just the one, so that was a pleasant surprise also. All this and a decent glass of red each for a total of just under $ 190. To be fair that is not too shabby considering all of the food was of an exceptional standard and the presentation matched this level of professionalism. The dishes were all well balanced and flavorsome also. Service was friendly and the staff had good knowledge of the wines on offer. Bar one little hiccup with service(its only been open a few days) it was exceptional and warm. The waiters were more more than accommodating and were able to make the tasting menu timing work so that we could make a movie commitment later in the night. Our top four dishes of the night were(1 – 4 best to not best): 1) Marron, mushroom dashi and turnips 2) Quail, carrots, ricotta, honey and buckwheat 3) Blackened trout, red curry and pineapple 4) Waygu rump cap, cherry, oats, seeds and nuts Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and if we didn’t have to rush off to make our movie commitment it would have been a perfect night.
