Oh Luxe Bar, you are always so tempting. This is the place where I’ve always said I’ll go for«just one cocktail» and somehow stumble out at closing time and multiple cocktails later. There’s something about that velvety draped interior… it sucks you into its soft bossom, the bar is awash with lighting that makes you instantly look and feel 5 years younger, and that first cocktail, it’s always Luxe’s signature espresso martini, hits the sweet spot every time. It’s a testament that this cocktail bar is still as popular as it was 12 years ago. Exceptional and friendly bar staff, cocktails made with fresh and seasonal ingredients and local house djs providing the slick tunes to match. Regular Luxe patrons always look forward to Luxe’s bi-annual event, Luxurious, which marks the changing of the menu for winter and summer. The cocktail menu gets a shake up, literally, every six months and launched at an invite only event featuring a cocktail degustation matched with food. Mmm mmm! That is one invite list you want to get on to!

Went here for New Years. Probably one of the best venues in Perth. Bar was well staffed and just a super cool place to spend the afternoon.

Well for a Friday night function with a $ 5,000 bar tab it got a little bit messy to say the least. But celebrating a wonderful occasion! The lighting is dim, but suits the mood of the place very nicely! We had some canapés and finger food catered for us, which was surprisingly really nice! Some sushi, pizza, nachos and bread. Music suited to the bar atmosphere, but I feel could have picked up a bit more. Highlight of my night were those cocktails!!! Oh my… They were great! Bar tenders were super friendly and always had a good idea of what drinks were good and suited the crowd. Cocktails were of such a great standard I can see why everyone raves about it so much! I can definitely see myself returning here for either a function or some drinks before heading out. Beaufort St, Mt Lawley rarely disappoints!

I enjoy Luxe quite a lot. The cocktails are up there with the best in Perth and the staff are very knowledgeable. I think my only criticism is the lack of staff. It would be great to see maybe two extra bar staff to deal with the crowds as the waiting time can be on the extreme end occasionally. Although I can understand how behind the bar would get a bit cramped with more bodies around the joint. Anyway, it’s definitely worth a look. Get there at 9.30 with some friends, find a seat, get a couple of drinks in and get ready for the crowds the pour in after 10

Saturday night spent with Cocktails, style and old school music. The Rouge room is definitely the venue to rent out, I am myself have held two events there. It’s $ 300 to hire out and comes with two bar tenders, also a whole DJ set up, where you can get a personal DJ or you can just plug your iPod into the aux cord. Great environment and close to everything. Love Luxe!

I challenge all other bars in Perth to match Luxe’s amazing Espresso Martini! I have tried many others and none compare. Luxe is the ultimate cocktail bar, so much love goes into their creations and you can taste every ounce of effort put in! Luxe is also innovative in the events they organise which keeps you coming back for more. There are very few late night bars and clubs I still enjoy heading along to — Luxe is waaaaaaaay up there on my to do list… Keep on smashing out the cocktail goodness Luxe and I will keep coming back for more!

I’ve been going to Luxe on and off for years and still believe they make the best Espresso Martini and Cosmopolitan in town! The cocktails do range from $ 18 to $ 25 but I actually think they are worth it. I’ve never been disappointed with any of my cocktails at Luxe before. It’s in enjoyable to sip slowly on a well made cocktail creation and really enjoy it. Unlike many places in Perth that think a Cosmo is vodka and cranberry juice…(Ah no)… Luxe knows the art and knowledge of a true cocktail mix. My only issue is coming back from NYC where I paid for The BEST cocktails I’ve ever had, and they were only $ 15. So prices technically are a little steep at Luxe. I like the ambience, the dim lights and seating areas… it’s comfortable and easy to relax with friends… it’s a place to go when you’re all dressed up looking glam and having a great catch up with your friends. The music is always great but it comes second to the cocktails and the chats!

Um amazing haha the bartenders were super cool. They’re on point with their drinks. The best show drink was this coffee like drink that was heavy on booze. The environment was fun and fast and the décor was swank. Everybody was just hanging out and talking up a storm. The place closes at 2 a. m and from what I learned its like the last stop from all the bars up the road. Legit.

If I had reviewed this bar 5 years ago it would have got the 5 stars. Now it is just an overpriced pretentious spot on Beaufort st. We would come here on a weekly basis and found the patrons really friendly. When you went outside for a fag, you would end up in some great conversations with some interesting people and it was great to be introducing new people to your friends in big hugs and enthusiastic smiles. The last time we came here it didn’t seem so friendly and a round of cocktails for my friends set me back $ 75 and there were only 4 of us! I’m in no hurry to come back. The outside area is a great place to sit and I came here one New Year when they actually(finally) opened the amphitheatre section up — Now that was a fabulous evening.

Cocktails. That is the main attraction at the Luxe Bar. Yes, they do all the standards, but this place has their own selection of unique creations. If they don’t have what you are looking for on the menu, ask them anyway. The bar staff are top notch and happy to accomodate requests. This place precariously tries for sophisticated and elegant, but it still has a little of that pretentious, trying to hard to be liked feel about it. The outside area known as bamBoo is great in summer for hanging out listening to live music and talking to the beautiful ladies that frequent Luxe.

Luxe Bar is home to some of my favourite cocktail creations on the Perth bar circuit. The list is extensive, but sadly not quite so ambitious as it was in it’s halcyon days. There was one drink; «Zen Tea» that was a refreshing concoction of tropical juice, ginger and Green Tea Liqueur which I would order. To my horror, I went back one night to find it had been removed! The masterful bar staff said ‘no problems”, and whipped it up from memory for me anyway. The people who frequent are well turned-out professionals. It’s a good place to pick up stylish ladies and gents. On Sundays, Luxe Bar kicks on later than the other watering holes along the Beaufort St. strip, and you’ll find a more casual crowd. Surrounds are plush but not over the top, and the music is good too; lounge with some funky, soulful house music mixed in. It’s fitting for a backdrop for flirting over cocktails or else a bit of a boogie, if the mood strikes.

Luxe was once a very cool little spot on the Perth cocktail bar circuit: it’s bartenders knew patrons by name and came up with some excellent and original concoctions(loved their Annabel Chong!). I remember their fun ‘Superstar DJ’ nights when a Perthonality would get up behind the mixing decks and play their favourite tunes; it always lent an element of variety to the Luxe soundtrack. Heck, I even got to have a go behind the decks once and it was so good to be able to play some obscure tunes that I’d otherwise not have gotten to hear in public. It’s still not a bad venue to meet up with friends for a cocktail or two, although I kind of wish the music was more eclectic. And I do like Bamboo, the outdoor garden area where new artists get to deliver music live.

Luxe often seems like a good idea at the time, but rarely delivers. The cocktails are a big drawcard, and rightfully so — there are some impressive concoctions(give the Super Juice a go), plus the bar staff are chatty and muck around a bit with the mixing. But the the place is swanky and kind of artificial, I find it hard to relax here. Bamboo, on the other hand, which is Luxe’s outdoor entertainment area is pretty amazing by comparison. It’s this urban garden space with an amphitheatre which stages really dynamic events(I went to one where a famous Thai chef made a three-course meal while contortionists performed and a Thai-pop band played in front of projected images). Thumbs up for this venue, a scrunched-up face for inside.

The bartenders know their stuff and make some mean cocktails. The bar and its bartenders have won a few awards. The music is pretty much always house music and sometimes they have live bongo players. Sunday is their biggest night, with lots of people taking shelter in the dark plush surroundings after a big weekend. Nothing gets started here till after 10pm.
