Clickety clack, knitting is whack. With the recent resurgence of wooly scarves, beanies, headbands, cowls and more I thought places like this would be booming with nans and wanna be grans but unfortunately not. There is a marvellous range of wool size and colours in store and patterns to pick the best stitch for your masterpiece. The service was incredibly attentive when we went in and for someone who last knitted in 1992 it was very helpful. My biggest concern was when we came to pay. $ 70 for 3 balls of standard wool and a pattern seems a bit rich when you can get a scarf in Kmart now days for $ 15 max. Maybe I’m totally out of touch with the value of wool though. I guess I just have to budget more next time! Luckily this time my funky grandma was paying and I’m getting an early winter scarf Christmas present.

If I were a fan of knitting I’d definitely mark this as a «Woohoo, as good as it gets» so for those of you who are this is utopia. I mean I’ve seen fabric shops stocking some of this stuff but this shop takes the cake, an absolute professional in its field. It is huge and filled with a knitters wonderland from needles to patterns, wool in any shade, tapestry, haberdashery too and alot more to do with handicrafts. They take pride in stocking the best knitting wool products from Australia and New Zealand and also Merino, Mohair and Angora. Word of warning: they are not cheap but if you love to knit quality items, this is the place to get it and for loads of knitting patterns for anything. Fancy making a teapot cosy, dolls clothing, craft projects, etc all the patterns and books are available. Plus, if there’s something in particular you can’t find anywhere even here, they will try to source it.
