From the outside, Chester White isn’t particularly inspiring. You need to climb the stairs and go inside to discover a big light-filled room with views in to the kitchen. There’s also an outdoor veranda perfect for sinking 2−4−1 drinks during the 4−6pm happy hour. When it comes to food, there’s actually lots to look forward to. You often see ‘fish of the day’, but how often do you see ‘pork of the day’? I think this is a trend I’d like to see in more establishments. Long live the pork! It’s a relatively busy spot during the week, the office crowd for lunch and the family crowd for dinner. It’s why I mostly order their(very good) pizza and take it home to eat in the serenity of my own home. Incidentally, it’s available on a gluten free base for an extra $ 4. With lots of mid week specials — locals night on Monday, BYO on Wednesday and roasts on a Sunday, this is a spot that really has a focus on pleasing the local community. I like Chester — he’s alright.
