Woohoo! As good as it gets! Not so much for the playground though, more for the tranquil location and peaceful ambience of aptly named, Peace Park. This is not a popular or well known park, by any stretch of the imagination, and I reckon that’s a good thing. I have rarely seen anyone else in this park and a bit of seclusion is nice when you’re my age and still enjoy a good swing set. The park is just off a section on the Greenmount Walk Trail and offers a nice respite after a long walk on the golden brown gravel. I like Peace Park because it’s not too manicured but it’s not unkept, either. The grass is always cut short and looks like it’s ready for business but there’s a little stream that runs through the sloping park. The stream is often overgrown in a lovely lush and adventurous sort of a way. There’s the new-ish colourful playground complete with swings, a slide and a sea-saw type thing. Warning: the sea-saw type thing does not excite, unless you’re about three years old. Then there’s a few pieces of older wooden equipment dotted around. I love everything about Peace Park and always have a great time when I come here.
