This Dymocks isn’t as spacious as one would like, but you can tell that the staff love the heck out of reading, which makes up for the lack of foot room. This store is filled with interesting hand written recommendations by staff, probably more than I’ve seen anywhere else, and they have an excellent children’s range in the adjoining space. Dymocks have a special ‘Australian Authors’ section, which is quite a hodge podge of modern novelists like Chris Tsiolkas alongside the old faves like Bryce Courtenay and Tim Winton. The prices are median, not crazy expensive but they could definitely do with more sales racks out the front. This is a book store that I don’t go out of my way to get to regularly, but when I do roll on by I can almost always rifle through the cheapies and find a good bargain.
