Last night we caught up with friends in the North West. We usually grab Fish and Chips, at one of our favourite places — ‘Westmeadows Fish & Chips’, but it was just too humid for that kinda fare, and also, on weekdays, they close at 8.30 pm.
Okay then, «I really feel like a feed o’ good old-​fashioned Aussie Take-​Away Chinese. Where do we go.?»
JULIANA’S on Pascoe Vale Road, GLENROY is certainly nothing to look at, and not really the kinda place to be seen, but it certainly filled the brief. brilliantly.:
–Clean: Both the premises and the OPEN kitchen.
–Fresh and Tasty: We shared, none of us had any complaints.
–Fast: Phone order for 6 ready in «10 to 15 mins».
–Traditional Aussie Cantonese: Just like we had, at our favourite local Chinese Restaurant, as kids.
–Generous: LARGE containers packed ‘choc a block’ and NO SKIMPING on the veggies.
–Good Value: 4 large HOME MADE Spring Rolls, 1 large Curry Beef, 1 large Mongolian Chicken, 1 large Beef and Vegetables, 1 large Curry Chicken, 2 large Special Fried Rice, 1 extra large Prawn Crackers — $ 68 — Was heaps for the 6 of us.
THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT with a nice cold ‘Crowny’ from the drive-​thru bottle shop at the ‘Westmeadows Tavern’ just round the corner from our friends’ house.
All Good!!! All Sweet!!! A lot to be said for the ‘Wild West’!!!

Cheap, cooked to order Chinese takeout has never been so good in the North!
It really doesn’t look like much on the outside, in fact it’s the sort of place you’re likely to drive by or walk right on past. Thankfully the cuisine is nothing like the shoddy building.
What I loved when I ordered here is that everything was cooked when I ordered it, no rice or chicken from the bain maree. The flavours are authentic Chinese without being overbearing.
All in all a golden find!
