Exceptional food but a bit pricey. Definitely not a pub meal as the servings were smaller than expected but very filling and were a delight. Side dish of vegetables are extra but worth ordering. Cost of drinks were at the higher end of the price bracket. The waiter was a bit rude which put a dampener on the night.

The service was exceptional and the staff were friendly. There wasn’t really any generic foods to choose from except steak. I got the gnocchi with ricotta. For something i wouldn’t normally eat it was pretty good. The presentation was great. My fiancé got steak and it was delicious.

Firstly, this place looks great, and is in the perfect position if you’re out and about in glenelg and looking for a bite or drink. So after making a reservation for 6pm and then calling a couple of hours later to only get the answering machine, I left a message to say we would be 30 mins. later, and wanted to change the reservation to 6.30. Of course when I arrived I see they crossed out the reservation and marked it a No Show. We were seated but a note to management to make sure you check your messages. Onto the evening. The girl serving was friendly and seated us with menus. As with most Adelaide restaurants this is now where it gets frustrating when comparing it to the US restaurants we frequent. We didn’t see the girl again for another 10 minutes which is when she asked us if we wanted water for the table. She then disappeared for another 10mins or so until revisiting to ask us for drinks at which time I suggested we order drinks and all food to move things along. I also asked if they would provide bread for the table which she said they would. It took another 5−10mins to get the drinks and then another few minutes to get the bread, of which there were 8 small slices, for the 9 people on the table. I then got her to come back and requested more bread which of course took another 5−10mins. Guessing by now you get the picture and problems with service. A note to the management who I’m sure are probably going to dismiss and ignore this, but after working and frequenting many hotels and restaurants throughout the world, I would suggest have your bread ready, have your water ready. When you seat people, ask them immediately which water they would like, and immediately have another staff member put some bread on the table. It not only gives the customer something to nibble and drink while waiting, but will give you some time to go and serve the other tables or for the staff to go and chat in the corner amongst themselves which seems to be a favorite past time of the overpaid hospitality staff in Adelaide. Now to the food. We sat downstairs as they were booked out upstairs. They have an upstairs more casual menu and a downstairs, fancier menu. They would not allow you to look at and order items off of the upstairs menu downstairs, they say because the 2 kitchens are separate. This makes a little sense, but, firstly if you have a group of people in your restaurant and you have a couple of people preferring to order something off of the other menu, let them. Get the staff to go upstairs, request the meal and bring it down. You are in the service industry. Serve your customer. You are much better having a happy customer who feels you have gone beyond to make sure they’ve had a great night. Word of mouth is key to your business survival. Food wise, the squid entrée was tasty, the ceviche was ok but fish is overpowered by the fruitiness of the sauces and while the plate is colorful, the fish looks more like it’s been ravaged and torn apart by the local sharks before placed on the plate. Others said the soufflé was just ok. For mains I had the 14 hr lamb, which again wasn’t bad, a little flavorless. I would suggest they bake in more of a sauce or pressure cook it with vegetables etc to infuse some flavor, as once you cut into the chunk of lamb it gets quite plain and stringy. Other family members had the skirt steak which looked ok but was very inconsistently cooked with pieces ranging from medium-well to rare. They were all described as being medium. Also when preparing skirt steak, the meat should be tenderized with a rub, ala the Mexican carne asada, and well rested after cooking, and generally served sliced across the grain, so it does not come out chewy. Another member had the seafood sausage roll which was quite good, but again a little bland. I would like to see an interesting spicy sauce on the side to go with it. We ordered all of the sides available, as you don’t get much on the side of your dishes, and they were probably the tastiest things of the night while being quite small for the $ 8.50 each. White sangria was great although overpriced and the wine and beer list is good. Again nice setting, average food and service overall. We had a much nicer, tastier, and cheaper dining experience across the square at the Italian Restaurant without the $ 50 per head price tag.

Loved the look and feel of this place. Great location too. The food was really good but watch out for the bait and switch tactic. They post one menu at the entrance but give you a different — pricier — one if you wander in and sit downstairs. You have to go upstairs for the the other menu and that space has a more casual crowded younger vibe. The food is five star but the pricing and serving size made me downgrade it and not want to go back.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a friend’s birthday drinks. Great venue and atmosphere. Grab a spot on the balcony if you can, as it was quite busy when we were there. Bar staff were friendly and smiling. Perfect location in Glenelg, definitely recommend it!

I didn’t mind this place. The atmosphere is definitely better than when it was The Dublin. The seedy dark bar upstairs has been replaced with a refreshingly white and colourful décor, which also has attracted better clientele. The battered fish and chips with the pea mash was not bad but the fish was plain and the chips overcooked. However, the beetroot, ricotta and walnut salad we had to share was really nice. My friend’s lamb shoulder looked like a chocolate cake, and was apparently nice. Service was quick and the staff friendly. Just a shame about the food. I would really like to give 3 and a half stars.

The Moseley looks nice, they’ve done a great job decorating the place, but the food is a letdown. The food wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t good either. The best way to describe it was«meh». First impressions were great, we were greeted out the front by a lovely lady who took us right to the elevator(as we had a pram). We went upstairs and i was impressed by the fitout, the place looks good! We ate lunch upstairs(in the more casual setting) and got a burger with chips, margherita pizza and potato skins. The burger was okay, the chips were average. The pizza tasted kind of bland(which is surprising considering their large wood pizza oven) and the crust tasted slightly burnt. The biggest letdown by far were the potato skins with cheese and bacon. After cooking the potato skins they must have been left to cool slightly and then sprinkled with cold cheese and bacon, resulting in the cheese not being melted. Apart from flavour issues it meant the cheese and bacon weren’t stuck to the potato skins, so every time we picked one up all the toppings fell off and we ended up with a plain piece of potato. Not good, really not good. I ended up having to use a fork to scoop up all the cold cheese and bacon out of the bowl, it was messy and awkward. The upstairs is self-serve. You order and pay at the bar and are given a buzzer, then you have to collect the food at the kitchen. The cutlery and napkins also have to be collected from the kitchen, we couldnt find plates anywhere so it made sharing our meals hard. There was also a mix-up with our meals and the buzzer, but as they are still new we considered that teething problems. I was so disappointed, as I was hoping for something better. The balcony is great and it would be awesome for a lazy drink on a warm summer’s day. But the food needs to be drastically improved! On a plus the staff seemed quite friendly. Here’s hoping they fix the food issues!

I had such high hopes for the Moseley but the only thing earning it one star was the brand new fit out. The redesign makes the Moseley fit in with the beach scene and is well worth a look. Everything else from the menu choices, the food, and the staff are substandard. A friend and I were looking forward to a nice lunch, the place wasn’t that busy despite the level 2 area opening that day. The menu is a little too high end for the location & the clientele. There are no chips or burger here, instead quinoa salad and lobster sliders. The menu is split into small, medium, and large meals. However, serving sizes are on the small size. After a confusing ordering process we were told our two salads would take up to an hour to arrive — something that perhaps should be been conveyed prior to ordering. The staff look frazzled and not confident in what they were doing. The vibe during lunch was not a great one, several other diners seemed unimpressed with their food and one diner complained, and in my eyes the staff didn’t handle that well either. The upstairs area again looks nice but with a lack of decent pub menu items like chips there was just a lot of drinking and no food being eaten. I won’t be returning to the Moseley in a hurry and I seriously wonder how long it will survive if it doesn’t improve itself.
