I have been here twice. One of the staff members is extremely rude. Both times. Average coffee.

A pretty average experience. Average food and coffee. Fair service. Diner atmosphere with less than inspiring décor. Just OK.

My husband loved his muesli, my daughter’s crumpets breakfast was delish, and my son had a steak sandwich that he liked a lot. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was fabulous!!! I tried a bite of everything. We will probably be back tomorrow, and possibly the next day

Grind It is a regular in my brunch/lunch rotation, and they make it damn hard to want to venture to new places. Located on Mosley street(a couple of doors down from a great second hand bookshop) you get to miss out on some of the craziness of the bay. But don’t be fooled, they are popular, so prepare to wait if you drop by during peak times. The staff here are lovely and provide full table service. They offer a whole range of fresh juices, the watermelon is always bright and tasty, and their lattes are usually nice and strong. The food is reasonably priced, especially given the quality. My partner is addicted to their Eggs Benedict and swears by them as a hangover cure! Their haloumi is one of my favourite dishes, especially coming into winter. They offer a ‘build your own breakfast’ for the indecisive — the base consists of 2 eggs, cooked to your liking($ 9 from memory) and then you are free to add all the extras you desire. I definitely recommend adding them to your brunch list in the near future!

The service at Grind It is lovely and the food equally as good. This place is extremely popular with locals so be prepared to wait for a table. Ideally you should try this spot for brunch, and do it soon.

A really good random find for brunch and coffee! The food was excellent, the poached eggs on the Eggs Florentine were cooked perfectly and the Turkish bread wasn’t too heavy. Their lemon hollandaise sauce was a nice touch but I would suggest having it on the side as I did otherwise it smothers the eggs and spinach a bit too much for my liking(as I saw from the people next to me). The only criticism I have of this place was he service was a little slow, but as it was Sunday and the places was packed it’s very forgivable and they made up for it by bringing around small appetisers(for free) of a cold beef salad served cleverly on a metal spoon(very hipster). It’s definitely worth the wait for the food and coffee!

Absolutely one of my new favourite places to eat when I am down at the Bay! I have been here for breakfast and lunch and every time I’ve visited have been floored not only by the food but by the service and staff as well. This place is super friendly — I am one of those people who actually like it when friendly shop men call me ‘love’ or ‘darling’ and I was not disappointed here! All the staff are friendly and even the kitchen people smiled at us when we looked in to check out what everyone else was ordering. My current weakness is pulled pork so I had to try the Po Boy with pulled pork and coleslaw. AMAZING. Such a generous serving size and there was something I couldn’t quite place in the coleslaw which made it superbly delicious. The french toast is also a spectacle of deliciousness and it wavers on the ‘healthy’ side(honey instead of syrup and cheese instead of cream counts as healthy right??). There’s a great drinks selection and the coffee is excellent. I particularly like the fact that you can choose your own juice blend and it is freshly made on the spot(I went for apple, cucumber and mint — so refreshing!). When we were here for lunch in a busy time we were brought out a tiny toasted sandwich with apricot and cheese while we were waiting. We were so distracted by how adorable our sandwich was that we didn’t really notice the food taking a little while to come out. Excellent idea and made for very happy diners! And of course I can’t go past taking home a little treat for later — my favourite so far are the homemade peanut butter cups! Definitely drop in and give this place a try — despite its modest exterior it never fails to deliver on great food, drinks and atmosphere!

We have been to Grind It a number of times and unfortunately have experienced the decline of a place with such great potential. While the quality of food and coffee is fantastic, Grind It are let down by their slow and not so friendly service and questionably high prices. On a day that was a lot less busy than previous visits, our coffees took over 20 minutes and our mains a surprisingly long time. You can see into the kitchen from the tables and there was clearly no rush to get orders out. There was also a misunderstanding with one of our orders which was handled with a bit more attitude from the waitress than appreciated by our party. I do like Grind It and encourage people to give it a go if they are in no rush for their food but this experience was unfortunately a disappointing one.

When organising a catch up brunch with a team of awesome ladies down at Glenelg the question of where on earth shall we eat came up and as the heads turned towards me to name the place the trusty Unilocal app was whipped out and with such rave reviews, I couldn’t not say Grind It. I was rapidly reassured in my decision when perusing the menu and finding so many options for my non-egg-loving self and on deciding on the breakfast sundae(layers of muesli with poached fruit and yogurt) there was no disappointment to be had at all. Staff were quick and efficient with ordering and table clearing, but dining at the busy brunch hour meant that food and coffees coming out were a touch on the slow side, but that’s to be expected when every table is filled. The consensus by my friends was that the food was overwhelmingly delicious and the smoothies were spot on. The coffee was pretty good and the place was loud and pumping. Can’t wait to find an excuse to come back again.

This guy! Oh man if grind it was a person it would be the cool hipster guy you see on the bus every morning. You know the type, hipster but not overly so, very good looking, nice to old ladies etc. he looks like he could work for a not for profit or a bank, you really have no idea. The only thing you do know for sure is that you will never speak to him, for you are slightly more lowly than he. And you have no idea why!!! That about explains my feelings on grind it, god I love it, and the food is amazing, and they are doing everything right. But it’s all just too cool and perfect and god I sound insane! Go there, eat. Cry over the food being amazing and feel bad about how imperfect you are. Ps I had the egg baguette and a muffin. They were amazing. Get those. Skip the bikini at the beach after because serving sizes are big!

A friend recommended this place to me the other day but also warned that there could be a line up… Fortunately at 12:30 on a Saturday there was at least a couple of bench seats against the window… My first impression was that it had an interesting layout with the 2 benches in the middle of the room and then a few booths. A large standing area near the front register. The staff were very nice. I was just glad my little 16 month old boy had a selection of toys to play with and some space to run around! I ordered the veg brekky wrap. It came covered with pesto which was delicious! The coffee is supplied by Diamond coffee who are based in Edwardstown. It had some wonderful latte art and most importantly tasted nice. Overall an excellent experience which I was compelled to come on here and rave about. But at the same time… stay away… because I don’t want to wait ages for a table… :)

Really liked this place. Off the main drag of Jetty Rd and probably scores bonus points for that. Still a busy place but people there for coffee, not trying to be seen having coffee. The coffee itself was excellent. Ordered a black coffee and as well as being the cheapest I’ve had so far in Glenelg, it tasted the best.

I’ve always wanted to try Grind It … and while I have only come here for a takeaway coffee, I will definitely want to visit again to sample their delicious-sounding menu! Grind It have just switched to Bonsoy as they soy milk of choice — did you know that Bonsoy is the only soy milk to have no added sugar? Well, you do now! So I have been on the hunt for cafes who use it ;) Coffee was delicious, and relatively cheap — $ 5 for a large — and staff were friendly. I will have to do another review when I make it here for food — saying that, I visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, and every table/booth was full!

Thanks Unilocalers for reviewing this café and adding great pics. So much so, that I bookmarked it. Then,(and this is the beauty of Unilocal), yesterday when I was asked to meet at 9am at Glenelg, I did a quick search and found my bookmark, double-checked the reviews and so Grind It became the meeting place! I loved it! I chose Eggs Benedict and Earl Grey tea, both delicious. My dining companion had a breakfast wrap and coffee, both of which looked and smelt amazing and he concurred with my observation! The hollandaise sauce on mine was light and had chives in it — delicious! I liked the atmosphere and the staff was really helpful, attentive and friendly. My friend who is a regular agreed with some of the Unilocal comments that it is packed on weekends and slow service. Apparently slower than it used to be. I’m not removing a star though as that’s not my first hand experience and many weekend great cafes are in demand in this way. Sad but true! I was disappointed there was nowhere to pro a bike as I’d like to ride here froM Henley, but I won/t — seems a bit awkward. Loved it and will be back — and as my name suggests, I must try the Sam I am, green eggs and ham! PS a dining neighbour had the French toast and it looked like the photo in the Unilocal review and it looked amazing! I was gazing at it(hopefully not dribbling) and a passing staff members said she could do a half serve(since I’d already consumed my body weight in delights) — how thoughtful :-)

It’s a nice little café at the bay. Staff are very friendly. It’s pretty busy for breakfast n lunch. They don’t take reservation tho, so if you go with a group, sometimes it can be bit hard to get a spot. Love their. Fresh juice which you can pick from variety of fruit n vegs. However, I had chicken salad, it was bit lack of dressing n fav. Bit disappointed, but friends were happy with their order, ;(unlucky me. Anyway, worth a try if you look for a healthy breakfast or lunch at Glenelg.

Grind it. How do I even begin to express my love for this seaside café. Anyway, here goes… Quite possibly the best breakfast menu in Adelaide. ALLDAY. Eggs, French Toast, muesli… all cooked to near perfection. I’ve yet to find a better French toast in Adelaide. Even though I’m not a big coffee drinker, I hear there coffee is of a very high quality. They also have a great tea range and freshly squeezed juices — YUM. This place can get extremely busy on a weekend morning and dishes may take a little longer to arrive, but its well worth the wait. Highly recommended!

Ab — Fab Plus! The good — all of it… The bad — very competitive for a space… Putting it this way, if you time it right, be nice, and maybe look the part, do yourselves a favour… Chanced this place with our troupe of 5 as it looked busy, busy at just past 9 this AM(they open for brekky at 9 on Sundays), only to find the place stacked to the rafters with folk already. The welcoming crew advised of a 15 minute wait if we were happy to queue — OK with us we said as there were some toys in a nook to entertain the young ones for a bit! After no more than 3 minutes, the friendly waitress advised we could have a booth for 5(apparently these booths against the wall are a prized spot if you can score one) — much to our glee, we partook a booth for our first Grind It experience ever! Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and superb coffees(with a diced fruit tasting x 5 thrown in for free) — were all 5 star quality! We knew we were on a winner here — as we tucked in, folk were in the queue the whole while, openly happy to wait while they soaked up the pleasant, background music filled, ambience! WEWILLDEF-RETURNTOTHISONE… A hip, cozy place to hang for a while…

So I’d been wanting to try Grind It ever since I could smell some lovely aroma’s drifting out one cold morning whilst I was waiting on a bus… I’ll say straight away that it won’t be my ‘go to’ coffee destination on or near Jetty road but the organic mango and macadamia muffin that I had this afternoon was delicious! Most of their menu for breakie and lunch seemed rather scrumptious too, if you want to be healthy and still enjoy your food, Grind It offers a variety of choices. The table service is definitely a big plus, I love sitting down and having someone(as a part of their job of course!) run around for you! The gentleman who served me was fairly well mannered, but I wasn’t treated like I was important or anything,(not that I am, let’s get that straight aha!) The inside of the place was nice, but it was a tad too noisy for my liking yet still almost comforting if you like. Unless you’d like some really nice goodies to munch on whilst sipping an okay cup of coffee then walk that bit further and go elsewhere. There are a few more places along Jetty road which are simply just that bit better — for coffee anyhow, the food is 5 star, let’s not doubt that.

Welcome to the land of freshly ground coffee and bacon. Grind It is competing with East Terrace Continental at the moment for my favourite brunch spot in Adelaide. then again I’m yet to try a few places. Today my friend and I needed to spend a good hour or so gossiping about the new year, starting year 3 at uni and life in general. Grind It offered the perfect place. We got one of the last spots left to sneak in before they got really busy(10am-ish), which we didn’t really expect on a Monday morning, but there you go. someone’s a bit popular! We got juice and coffee first, my iced coffee was perfecto and it came out just when I really started to crave it. The wait for food wasn’t bad at all considering the amount of people there. I had good ol’ bacon and eggs with sides of mushrooms and avocado. I haven’t eaten since and it’s 3pm, there was so much on the plate(definitely worth $ 16 including sides). I was so impressed, they slice up an entire avocado as a side for you! Getting a park was a bit of a stretch on this drizzly summer day, but that’s Glenelg for you. This is the place you meet your«Sex and The City» friends to gossip, catch up and be merry!

I do like Green Eggs & Ham, Green Eggs & Ham makes for a happy wo-man. You would never walk into Grind It by just looking at it from the outside, except for the fact that every day of the week it is jam packed with people brunching, lunching, coffee-ing or sipping juices. The menu deserves a good mention for Grind It. It is full of healthy add-ons, combos of meat and veg or veg and veg breakfasts, mean looking sarnis and a drinks list that would keep you occupied for a week alone trying to make a decision. From pesto scrambled eggs with feta and grilled ham on rye to pear and marscapone French Toast or the Veggie Brekkie with zucchini fritters cooked to perfection — I have never been disappointed, or left hungry, at Grind It. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend. You can’t book and this place is popular with the locals. The service is wonderful and you can still order coffees and smoothies(do have the berry smoothie) while you wait.
