Great location for a coffee, lunch, dinner or a drink. I would always come here to chill with friends on a warm night. My favourite dish is the lamb salad and to go long with this i would always order a strawberry and lime cider. Ohhhh it’s so fresh. Attentive staff and there’s lots of indoor and outdoor tables. they are always busy so first in first serve. You snooze you lose buddy!

I find it unnerving to offer a review based on only one dining experience, particularly because we ate at peak time…7:30 on a Friday night. Having said that its a good time to judge an eateries capacity to deal with busy a crowd and patron movement. We were sat directly opposite where the bar /barista staff were working. I found it noisy and busy, not an intimate environment. The staff were hip and helpful. This venue struck me as being popular with the under 30’s who don’t mind noise, plenty of people traffic and being waited on by table staff who look like they’ve just come from basketball practice. The wine was good, the menu was well thought out and the food was tasty and fresh, albeit a bit expensive for a «café» (2 entrees 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine) and we got coin change from $ 100. I think i’d like to try it for lunch and maybe sit outside. I can’t say it was disappointing, but we were keen to eat and leave. This place has all the hallmarks of a trendy place you might otherwise go to in Chapel St Prahran. Not a venue for a quiet anniversary dinner. Still glad to have been and sampled their fare

Super friendly service on arriving and during your visit. Great menu and options. Cool and funky style café/bar, coffee a little pricey for the areas. Good selection of cakes and deserts

Oh why has my food Gods forsaken me??? We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This café’s layout and design is trendy and even when it is busy, the walls don’t echo noise, so you can hear each other talk with no problems at all. The wait staff are friendly and very likeable. They gave the right amount of time to let you choose from the menu, instead of trying to rush you because it was busy, nor was there slack of service. Very impressed. The wife had the deconstructed souvlaki which she thoroughly enjoyed. One the other hand, I had the LPC(lemon pepper calamari). The size of the meal was a little on the lean side. On counting the amount of calamari, let’s say I never got to the number 7. But luckily I only had 6 tough bits of calamari. The side salad was a few bits of lettuce on the main part of the side being parmesan cheese. If the calamari was cooked properly & potentially chopped up a bit, maybe people wouldn’t complain. And RELAX on the parmesan guys!!! Price wise, I believe it was a little overpriced for what you get on the plate… Other than this, it was an enjoyable experience & probably would go again if someone else paid.

this place has uncomfortable chairs and i’m saying this as good thing because if it was comfortable you’ld probably never leave… :) this place gets busy at certain times of the day and week. during good weather the best seating is outside with mates and people watch as you sip on a cappuccino and chow down on meal… the service is good as well as the coffee’s and meals. the location is excellent and gives out a trendy/wanna be vibe to it, and as soon as you sit down you instantly infuse yourself and become part of the ambience… sounds deep don’t it, i guess i just like the place because of the eye candy around… :) would i go back? for shizzal my nizzal…

Mocha Jo’s. Modern. Sophisticated. Brilliant. Now there are a lot of different cafes that do coffee – Duh – but Mocha Jo’s takes a few steps forward in the right direction with their café. For one the atmosphere inside, and outside, is calm and relaxing. It wasn’t quite a deliberate attempt, to begin with anyways, on finding a coffee shop. I was on my way to the city when Melbourne decided to rain like it hasn’t rained in awhile. It occurred to me that instead of wasting my time and heading home it would be in my best interest to visit a coffee shop and have a nice cup of coffee before heading off. This is how I stumbled upon Mocha Jo’s. To be quite frank, I’m actually fairly impressed by this café. As I mentioned before the atmosphere within the place is calm and relaxing. The prices aren’t horrible either. The cup of coffee that I’m drinking as I wrote this review cost me a 3.80 $ not bad but not the cheapest either. I find it worth it though. The coffee is well made by an absolutely stunning barista, if I don’t say so myself. The flavor, the temperature and the aroma is perfectly balanced. You may be asking about how the food is. The unfortunate answer is that I don’t know. I didn’t get to taste their delicacies whilst I was here. Perhaps maybe you can help me get some idea as to how their food is by visiting yourself! The coffee itself is definitely worthwhile to check out. Maybe the food is too(;

What is it with this place? Staff uncaring and more about them talking to each other than real service. Over-priced and under-serviced.

Have a seat and have a sip at Mocha Jo’s. There’s no doubt, each and every time, I come here, I’m always presented with a delicious cup of coffee — strong and tasty. It hits you in every sip and indeed Mocha Jo’s coffee tingles your neuron; hence, waking you up in the afternoon(that’s the time it’s cracking!). LOCATION: I come here all the time with my friends and it’s the coolest hang out spot, and there’s no lie there. We come for lunch, dinner, and, of course coffee! I love how they have indoors and outdoors seating. You can sit in the sun, or sometimes get blown away with the wind, and in that case you might want to stay indoors. 5 stars! Let’s talk about SERVICE: besides the awesome coffee, servers are on top of their game. They know what you want if you come there all the time — how amazing is that? When I was visiting my hometown in Melbourne, I came back to this place every day of the week to meet up with my friends — and let me tell you, that’s no joke! And the servers remember me! They know exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it! 5 stars! DRINKS: 5 stars! 1. I’m pretty simple, just black coffee and it’s a 5 star! 2. A few times, as a treat, I got their mocha — delicious! It wasn’t too sweet and still gave me that hit of espresso flavor. 100% the best mocha I had in Melbourne so far. FOOD: Here’s my recommendations: 1. Seafood risotto: it’s a mixture of seafood like shrimps, scallops, and calamari. Thick in flavor, but not overwhelming. 4 stars. 2. Lamb salad: let me tell you, this is to die for! One of my favorite dishes and plus I’m not usually a fan of lamb, but this lamb doesn’t smell so bad and doesn’t have the smelly lamb taste. I like! 5 stars! 3. Caesar salad: simple is good! Sometimes a caesar salad is what a girl want! Love the crispy lettuce! Love the fact how they added bacon and an egg(never can go wrong!) **OVERALL: You can sit-in or — out and a coffee will tingle your brain for you to get up! 5 stars and beyond!

I agree Mocha Jo’s makes a great cup of coffee, and an even better iced coffee(it’s surprisingly hard to find a decent iced coffee, but these guys do it well). It’s a good place for a snack or catch up coffee with friends, as the staff are friendly, and the place itself is nice. I haven’t tried any of the food here apart from the garlic bread(which was nice and garlicy, so beware!), but I have heard the food is pretty nice.

Mocha Jos is in a prime location of the Glen Waverley strip. It’s a central meeting point and is constantly buzzing with people in and outside. This is a hip and trendy place by nature thanks to the vibe of the people. Weekend breakfast can get pretty busy here, its not unusual if a wait is required for a table. This is a very fun place to be, the staff are excellent and the food is decent. I would prefer to have a larger variety on the menu(because I’m picky), but it’s fine the way it is now. Their best sellers are probably their toasted sandwiches-simple, tasty, great price, and chips are served in a cute mini fry basket on the side. Other things worth trying out are their steak, this is a huge slab of meat that is cooked and flavored well. Their garlic bread/dips are also fun. Definitely a great place to catch up with friends, probably wouldn’t suggest large groups unless you’ve got a booking.

«That café is really good,» my friend said to me as we walked down Kingsway, pointing to Mocha Jo’s. «I remember one time I went there with these people I just met and we had really amazing coffee.» «That was me,» I replied. True story. Anyway, funny-if-you-were-there jokes aside, they do make a mean cup of coffee. And an indulgent cake. And a breakfast that’ll keep you going for days. There’s also the bonus of very impressive outdoor heating. The awning has gas or hot water pipes that run all the way along, so you can be sure that no matter where you sit you’ll be as warm as indoors.
