Overrated. Not the best in the area.

If you’re after a really, really awesome pie, and you’re in the area, this is the place to go. And judging by how busy it is at any time remotely close to breakfast or lunch, many locals think exactly the same.
Prices are generally pretty standard bakery fare, but the standard of the food is quite high. If you’re on a diet, maybe put it on hold for an hour (I promise I won’t tell anyone). If you’re on a diet and you don’t want to put it on hold, grab yourself a salad sandwich anyway. You won’t regret it.
I usually order a sausage roll and a vanilla slice — one of the ones with the custard, the cream and the chocolate icing. Sure, it isn’t easy to eat a vanilla slice in the car (especially one packed so high with sugary and creamy goodness), but the challenge is well worth it.
The service is really good. The ticket machine (9 times out of 10, you’ll need a ticket) is located in the middle of the shop, because you sure won’t get near the counter when it gets even a little bit busy.

Ok, so this is the only bakery I have found who make these, but wow, they are amazing. I made the mistake of living around the corner from this bakery for 2 years. I say mistake, because it definitely was for my waistline!
They have a huge range of cakes, slices, hot food, bread. And everything is great. Apart from the pasties, the vanilla slices are great, with nice crispy flakey pastry, and the dounuts are fresh and soft and obviously made daily. This bakery is everything a bakery should be.
