My suggested 8 step guide for this sneaky little Glebe bar. Follow these directions and based on my previous research, you should have a lovely evening. 1. Arrive with friends at Sam I Am, after the nice dinner you just had in Glebe 2. Grab a table outside in the Beer Garden(or upstairs if the weather isn’t nice) 3. Order a jug of the Fat Ass Scrumpy for $ 15 4. Act out a dinosaur play with the plastic dino toys sitting on the tables 5. Repeat step #3 6. Play a round of darts and talk to some random Glebe hipsters 7. Repeat step #3 8. Enjoy your night at Sam I Am!

Bistro by day, bar by night Sam I Am is a scruffy little place that you’ve probably walked past a million times on Glebe Point Rd. Walk inside, and it’s like you’re transported back to the Rock N’ Roll days of the nineties, with dark walls, mismatched vintage furniture, and grunge rock playing on the speakers. I went to Sam I Am during happy hour, when beers were $ 5 a pop. I ordered a house blonde, which I didn’t enjoy too much. One of my friends ordered a vodka soda, which was a shocking $ 9. We were all a bit surprised how a place like this could charge more for a mixed drink than, say, The Ivy, let alone during ‘happy hour.’ We sat in their outdoor patio area in the back, which has benches, couches, and small tables for different sized groups. Sitting all the way in the back, it smelled like rubbish, from what I can only guess were rubbish bins right behind the fence from us. I didn’t get a chance to look at their menu, but while I was there, I didn’t really associate the place with appetizing food. I’m willing to be proven wrong though. I can always be persuaded by a good brunch. I’ll keep you updated.
