The food was nice, with a small yet intriguing menu. I had the avocado on toast and my partner the chicken burger, I apologise for not remembering the exact names of these meals as stated on the menu. The vibe was cool and very hipster with lots of young people and young families with their dogs. I found it a little expensive for my student budget at the time, but overall it was nice.

The coffee may be great but the food was very below average. Ordered poached eggs and avocado salsa on gluten free toast. Having particularly asked for runny eggs, they arrived close to hard boiled. I pointed this out to the waiter and got a perfunctory sorry. I had waited a long time for the meal to arrive, otherwise I would have sent them back. I ate the meal because I was hungry but it was not at all tasty. Gluten free toast was white and spongy which didn’t help. I mentioned the eggs again when paying and was asked if I’d ordered runny. I said I had. No further response. Disappointing food. Disappointing attitude.

Nice space that is fresh and clean. You can choose to sit inside or out and the customer service is good. The coffee is great and i highly recommend the vietnamese coffee with condensed milk.

Hipster meets barista. The Glebe food scene has finally staged a revival, with Brewrista one of a number of good cafes that have opened up in the past year or so. My porky pig was a mélange of disparate ingredients that somehow formed a very satisfying whole, And, as promised by the name, they do an excellent coffee. The staff are also super nice. I only stopped in for a coffee. But the space was really lovely, especially the back terrace, and their menu looked quite scrumptious – not to mention the gorgeous plates that were being carried to tables in my vicinity. I would definitely return for brunch or breakfast if I found myself staying in the Glebe area again. Staff was friendly and prices were right.

Amazing cold brew coffee featuring Ethiopia Yirgacheffe bean served chilled in beer bottles, just how I like it! Also, ordered a second coffee to go, a siphon coffee with El Sal filter which Tyler(the extremely skilled barista) patiently explained the intimate process of. These guys know their coffee! Will be back soon!

I had great breakfast here just the other day and their only let down is perhaps they are just too popular. I tried the lamington shake and the Frankenstein breakfast and both were great! The Frankenstein was a great mix of flavours and textures presented in a crazy tower of guac, fried egg, corn chips and toast! it was hard to pick this as the other dishes all sounded great and they looked equally as good as they were delivered to other tables. This place has a great range of drinks both for the hard core coffee drinkers as well as the kid at heart adults that want a peanut butter jelly shake with their meal(because calories don’t on the weekend right?). The staff are all very fun and cool but are all very busy which is the only downside of this place. The busy-ness is a little bit of a draw back so make sure you have the time to wait a little for your meal and drinks but the quality is well worth the wait in my books! Can’t wait to be back to try another wicked milkshake flavour — YUM

As you walk in you spot the delicious sweet treats on offer — I spotted a nutella and a caramel scroll and a tart that had a chocolate syringe in it! You know this place is going to be good I have been meaning to check this place out for agess! So when a foodie event came up i thought why not! It was a nice warm afternoon that we got to chat to other like minded instagrammers who enjoy food but most of all taking photos of it. I got the Double chocolate milkshake(i think that’s what it was called). By golly it was sweet! It had nutella around the top of the jar, a slice of brownie on top and whipped cream! I could only finish half of it. Sooo much sugar! Thanks to Jason who makes all these delicious shakes! Overall, was a great first time visit, i aim to go back to try some cold brew and other items on the menu

Hands down the best coffee in Sydney. The nicest surprise is how great the food is as well. The Porky Pig and Prawn Ebisu burger are amazing

Their commitment to coffee is the reason I keep coming back. I would say however that they’re a little too far towards the Melbourne light roast movement for my double Riss liking. The food is okay, a little too alternative which makes it tough to bring a group of fussy eaters here.

A definite gem in the Sydney inner west. Friendly staff, especially Kevin who runs their coffee bar at the back, highly knowledgeable and will chat with you about brewing and cupping if you show the inclination, so do look for him on a Fri/Sat night! Highly recommend their siphon coffee, watch Kevin make it, it’s like a scene from Breaking Bad.

Past reviews have already made some great points about this place, but I had a few additional observations. The first time I went here, it was for brunch. I ordered the scrambled eggs with toast, and a side of avocado. I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee, and my friend got the cold drip. The coffee — fantastic, authentic! The eggs — huge portions! I think there must have been at least 4 eggs in that scramble, and I couldn’t finish it. I took a sip of my friend’s cold drip, and it was very good(N.B. I’m not a big fan of cold drip generally). Post-brunch, we ordered another round of coffee, and this time I went with the cold drip. Lovely. I went to Brewristas for the second time to get some breakfast on a cold rainy weekend morning. I asked if they would a takeaway, and was told yes. I ordered a large cappuccino and poached eggs to go. I was then told that they weren’t able to do a takeaway on the poached eggs. Would I like some toast with spread instead? No, I wouldn’t. I was quite disappointed why poached eggs couldn’t be put into a box for takeaway(I get them as takeaway from other places!). I just went ahead with my coffee order. As usual, I could find no fault with the coffee — beautiful, creamy, and delicious. Brewristas is your typical inner city trendy café. While waiting for my cappuccino, I was transfixed by their ninja barista; he foamed milk and ground beans at the same time at dizzying speeds(I swear the man had a third hand hidden somewhere). I would definitely go here again, especially to try«Kevin’s Balls». Still disappointed about the poached eggs though. (Note: The café is open late but does not serve alcohol)

Nice café! Big selections on coffee menu, I like the brewtea idea! Very good service! Just the food menu is not my cup of tea.

Stumbled upon this place yesterday while perusing the Glebe Markets. Looks like it opened up pretty recently, and judging by the name you can tell there’s a focus on the coffee. They offer cold brew, normal coffees, a cold brew with lemonade(Brewmonade,) and a cold brew with tea(Brewtea.) Great variety of coffee, and a great variety on teas as well. The interior is modern cool; there’s some good usage of space here and service was attentive with food coming out fast. I ordered a flat white($ 3.80) and it was definitely a good one. My partner ordered a Vietnamese Ca Phe Sua Da which was a different take on Vietnamese coffee that was pretty good. Later on I also ordered a cold brew of the day for takeaway($ 5) but they don’t do cold brew of the day for takeaway, they have pre-bottled ones for $ 9. Definitely worth a purchase if it’s your kind of thing or if you want to taste coffee in a purer form. Snobs unite! The food is a bit of a mixed pot… there’s modern Australian and traditional brunch items, and then some experimental stuff. I ordered the Porky Pig’s Hotteok($ 15) which is essentially a bacon and egg roll with avocado, but the buns are a honey jam pancake(Korean). I thoroughly enjoyed it as there was a good combination of savoury and sweet. My partner ordered the Coconut Poached Chicken Sandwich($ 17) which was pretty massive. It has spinach, cucumber, watercress, and habanero chilli mayo. Sounded promising. It comes on sourdough, with a separate piece of iceberg lettuce. The lettuce has a bit of vinegar so it’s tangy and interesting. That’s about it. This was a pretty big disappointment, tasted more like eating cardboard especially for the price. The chicken wasn’t really flavoured and it was overcooked, and the sourdough was a catastrophe. It really needs to be toasted or something because it just felt like something was missing. Would definitely come back here, but would skip the chicken sandwich. Keen to try Kevin’s Balls(yes) though and the other types of coffee they have.

Brewristas is a sleek new coffee-lab situated across Glebe markets(same block as the 7-Eleven). The designer deco interior fuses perfectly with the upbeat music playing in the background. These guys take their coffee very seriously, you’ll see state-of-the-art coffee machines and coffee towers in the shop. We tried the three types of coldbrew coffee: Special Blend Brewtea, Brewmonade and Cold Drip of the Day. Suffice to say, we were buzzing with caffeine overload for the rest of the day. Traditionally, cold-brew coffee is extracted with cool filtered water over a slow 12 hour drip. The final outcome is a sweet, syrupy cup that sidesteps coffee’s normal acidity and goes down smooth, real smooth. It’s a perfect drink for a hot summer day. The coffee wizards at Brewrista added a twist to the process by infusing coffee into lemonade and tea with the cold drip method. You can get take-away 6-packs too(they keep their cold brews in beer bottles!). The menu is full of random little surprises like Kevin’s Balls(crunchy balls with roasted pork belly, sweet potato, tofu, and kimchi) and Piggy’s Pork(Sizzling bacon served on Japanese pancake and drizzled with Korean honey marmalade sauce). For the non-coffee drinker, the coconut cucumber mind blend is an awesome thirst-quenching drink which goes well with the spicy balls. The dessert menu is pretty interesting too! We ordered the Cookies and Cream Scroll and was very satisfied. *tip — add vanilla icecream to balance the sweetness of the scrolls*. The tiramisu pots sell out very quickly, so we will have to come back and try that in the near future!
