I have a problem, genetically inherited, where I go into fabric shops and freak out about the possibilities presented by amazing fabric. The fact that this is some kind of serious mental condition was highlighted last year when I accompanied my wife here to spend a gift voucher she’d received and summarily freaked out about all the different types of wool. I don’t even knit. I don’t want to knit. Yet, the wool here is amazing and I want to buy it all. In addition to stocking a million colours, this store stocks every imaginable texture of wool, including some bizarre, lumpy, pattern-filled weaves that make knitting seem like the most psychedelic pass time imaginable. They also stock a wide range of patterns and run classes in store. The staff were helpful and very friendly when we visited. If you have any interest in knitting whatsoever, visit this shop. You’ll love it.

Lovers of needle craft can find everything they need for all of their projects at Yarns On Collie. Whether you’re a talented knitter, leaning the art of crochet or making a tapestry master piece, Yarns On Collie will spoil you rotten with a very fine selection of hand died wools, needles of every shape and size and a myriad of patterns for all your jumper requests. Out of all the craft shops around, they’ve got by far the biggest selection of wool I’ve seen. Lincraft aint got nothin’ on these bad girls. They’ve got your basic primary colours, multi-coloured balls, wool with sparkles, fuzzy big bird types polyesters, buttons and other embellishments. As most knitters know, paying for good quality yarn can cost a pretty penny. Although they’ve got some really expensive balls, if spending $ 15+ is a bit too steep they’ve got a sale bin and some cheaper stuff too. The lady who works here is super helpful and didn’t mind showing me a new stitch when I asked politely! The best place to go for indulging your inner nanna!
