If fauvism is a passion of yours, or you simply like brightly coloured comical creations then stunned emu designs are for you. Ever since I was little and my sister bought a clay figure of an emu for mum the resemblance was uncanny and I have never really been able to think about emus, without smiling. Wendy is a talented artist who shares her passion of painting with all who open their eyes to her work. Nothing struck me as particularly unique, having visited a few similarly themes galleries as of late, however that doesn’t detract from the quality or my appreciation of her work. Emus for the road!

It’s so nice to see unusual creative businesses flourish; I remember Stunned Emu from when they would hold stalls at the various craft fairs around Perth. Being dragged around row after row of paper tole and decorated toilet roll holders, it was refreshing to see someone making amusing gifts and cards based on their own character drawings. They’ve obviously built a very successful business from there as this prime-position Cappuccino Strip shop specialises in prints that feature their trademark stunned Emu in a variety of settings and situations, on every kind of souvenir item you can think of. If I were a tourist in Australia, I would freak out about this stuff and buy things for everyone I knew here. As such, I bring visitors from overseas here as it’s a much better option than clip-on-Koalas as a souvenir option. That being said, the prints are gently amusing and make for a novel gift for Mums and Grandmas, so it’s worth checking out for locals as well.
