The lack of signage makes this café a bit hard to find but its worth seeking out or stumbling upon for the Belgian hot chocolate or mocha.

Very cool fit out. Love the ceiling and exposed brick wall. Coffees were good too. Hopefully I’ll get to come back to try some more of their offerings

I can’t say I was much of a fan of Hush when it was in it’s smaller, main-street-fronted location. This bigger and chiller location seems to be quite becoming though. I always have good coffee here, and being a fan of the Bagel in all flavours and forms this place ticks boxes. I have had the rosemary and sea salt bagel and the blueberry bagel, both good toasted with cream cheese. There is a also a mezzanine where you can sit up and be a voyeur of the people in the downstairs part of the café and those passing on the street. There was a woman up in the mezz tapping away at something on her laptop, and I can see how this would be the perfect setting to get some work done. The staff are lovely too. Kudos to my new favorite freo haunt.

Now open in their new location! I love the fit-out, or lack of it. Incredible embossed ceiling, partially sanded back wall on one side, exposed red brick on the other. Quite a lot of a seating(over 2 levels), they need it though, this popular café was full when I visited at 2.30pm on a Wednesday. Delicious looking cakes and bagels by the plenty! Cakes, slices and all that good sweet jazz. Speaking of jazz, the music played while I was there was great. There was a sign saying more ‘food coming soon’, hopefully more hot options and salads.

Hush Espresso is back in business! It has moved to High St in an awesome new multi level space. No menu as of yet but currently has amazing counter selection of cakes(vegan options too!), as well as quiches and sandwiches. The almond croissant was beautiful($ 6.50) and the raw mulberry, dark chocolate cake was a hit with my dining partner. Coffee is still the fantastic, creamy Hush brew that we all know and love. Old style gentleman’s club décor works brilliantly here; dark wood panelling, leather bar stools, dim lighting and old brick are a match made in… Fremantle I guess! Friendly staff are also part of the charm here! So check the new location out Unilocalers, you won’t be disappointed, and bring on the new menu!(Did someone say all day breakfast?)
