I have recently been setting about spending a bit of indulgent time to think about me and how I want to portray my personal brand professionally. I therefore decided I wanted some corporate headshots to use to build a personal website, to send to event managers to use in their marketing material when I am speaking at events and for my linkedin profile etc. I did a lot of research into corporate headshots in Brisbane and to be honest they were all a bit dull, boring and traditional. Verve’s Image Branding service has an inclusive package offering: — Pre-photography consultation — The photoshoot — A post-shoot image image show/selection session — Two high resolution digital files which are professionally retouched. You then have the option to purchase as many additional shots as you like /need for your project, in addition to turning them into pieces of physical artwork if you are looking for something to hang at home or in the office. The process started with the diary co-ordinator Alicia asking me a series of questions to better understand my potential brief. She then sent me through a list of detailed questions to really help me write up a comprehensive photography brief. I was extremely lucky and got to work with Shannon Lawrence who clearly had read my brief prior to her call. Shannon oozed personality and creativity and during the call she started to form numerous potential shots to capture on the day and was able to help direct me to bring exactly what I needed. Verve is on the corner of James Street where there are three dedicated car parks right next to the studio enabling you to fill the car with all you will need for your shoot. The studio is far from sterile but actually a beautiful comfortable creative workspace. Shannon settled me in and offered me something to drink from their menu of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. She produced the brief I had written together with her shot schedule which she had sketched out following our pre-shoot consultation. Oh I forget to mention they do two late nights midweek(open until 9pm) enabling you to book in after work and they also are open all day Saturday and Sunday — I love a businesses that work around people who work! The photoshoot flew buy and was a really fun experience. I expected a silent shoot but found that I spent most of it laughing and talking. Shannon, used her fashion photography expertise and was able to style me by selecting a number of different outfits for the shoot to ensure I had a number of very different styles and looks to choose from. Top tip — don’t worry about bringing too many clothes, the more you have the more they have to choose from and the better the outcome for you! At the end of my shoot Shannon booked me in for my photography show/image selection three days later(Sunday) and on Saturday the image designer and Shannon called me to confirm my show. They both sounded so super excited about showing me my portfolio. It was lovely to hear a genuine passion that come across from the team about what they had created for me and there was no way I could feel I was just another customer going through the process. With a few bottles of beer I watched my portfolio come to life, on a huge plasma screen, in one of their design review rooms. The designer — Gina — helped me select my favourite shots with the help from Shannon. I cannot over emphasise how much they lived and breathed my brief and were genuinely excited about helping me get what I wanted to achieve. The most amazing and unexpected part of the experience came to life after they sent my photos to two very talented graphic artists, who also work for Verve. As part of my portfolio the graphic designers had hand created unique visuals, created from some of the photographs taken. The package of totally amazing Shannon photography and unique graphic art pieces just blew me away. The issue I had was the photoshoot was so successful, I loved all the shots and it was agony whittling them down to the very best — I wanted to buy them all! I selected my shots and before I left Shannon presented me with a bottle of bubbles together with a really lovely personal card congratulating me on completion of my project. Less than a week later the shots, professionally retouched, arrived in my inbox via hightail. They look like they have come out of a GQ Magazine article! No one can say they have corporate headshot like mine as they really are one of a kind. I cannot thank the Verve team enough for what they helped me achieve and personally would not hesitate in recommending their Verve Image Branding service to anyone looking for professional photography with a difference. Thank you Alicia, Shannon, Gina and the amazing Verve graphic artists for making it happen!!! You have one brand new Verve Portrait advocate to add to your collection of fans!
