I am with Lisa N. on this one– the best thing about Shah kebab is not actually their kebabs but their pizzas. Eating a kebab after a big night out is sooooo 2008 in my books, I am now all about pizzas now and thankfully, Shah Kebab sells some very tasty pizzas at around $ 4 a slice. The great thing about buying a pizza from here is that if you come here during their peak period(i.e. 2am on a Saturday), the pizzas will always be fresh because they are constantly making new ones since they are so popular. I just love grabbing one of the huge slices of BBQ Chicken pizzas, it is the perfect snack to end a big night out. I have been to Shah Kebab during the day time and let me tell you, you really only want to go there at night after a big night otherwise the charm is not there; night time is when this place truly shines. There is nothing wrong with the kebabs at Shah Kebab(to be honest I can’t remember what they taste like) but may I suggest that next time you go there, you grab yourself a freshly cooked pizza slice.

The Shah Kebab Vegetarian Pizza is sensational! And you want to know the best part??? It’s only $ 15! $ 15 for a huge pizza(10 slices in fact), big enough to feed at least four relatively hungry people and maybe three starving people! It is topped with all sorts of things I love like spinach, feta cheese, black olives and fresh herbs… mmm… I have heard that Shah is pretty famous for it’s kebabs(especially with the Fri/Sat late night drunken patrons) but I had heard no reports about it’s pizza. So last Wednesday night on my way home from a late night Valley meeting I picked one up. Now I consider myself a bit of a pizza connoisseur(having worked in a pizza shop for over a year) and honestly, for $ 15 this is a pretty damn good pizza. I can only speak for the Vegetarian variety — however I am sure the rest are on par. So, next time you are in the valley thinking about how good that kebab will be — maybe consider sharing a pizza instead(your friends will thank you for it)!

I’ll be honest, I only recently just found out the name of this place, yet I have been there countless times. «How can an individual patron a store regularly yet not know it’s name» I hear you fret. The answer: alcohol. Shah Kebab(not«that kebab place near to bus stop in The Valley») is the perfect final destination after a night out. You booze hounds out there know that the ideal remedy for an impending hangover is to buy a kebab and munch it down as quick as you can. I don’t know how it works, but it just does. I imagine it has something to do with the speed of the consumption, but I am no Einstein. The Shah Kebab also offers pizza and chips, amongst other greasy delights. For some reason I didn’t enjoy the chips I ate there once, I think they were cold or stale or something, but I don’t remember clearly. All I remember was the feeling of betrayal and loss, mixed in with the taste of undercooked potato. My advice, stick to the kebab or the pizza. The Shah Kebab is open pretty much 24 hours, but in my opinion, if you’re still out a 6 am you should use that money to catch a taxi home immediately before the sun has fully risen. At the end of the day the Shah Kebab isn’t that bad but I’m not sure if I’d bother eating there sober.
